Hi, so how to learn to play artys? I have french tier 7, which sucks pretty much..and i'm only playing them for reward tank missions. Is there any video or channel on YT? Where to position yourself on each map, etc etc...which skills to use? Which arty is best for T55a and for obj 260?

You are playing them only for the reward tanks...This sounds like an excuse for playing them. You don't need any excuse, you play whatever you want. French arties don't suck, they just have kinda low alpha and low pen, so they don't do the most dmg, but they are the most accurate and have the fastest reloads. BC 58 is fun to play. I completed all 15 missions for the t55a with the french.

Well i would say you will have to experience it for yourself, i don't know any good arty guides.

But, but, but, I thought arty was really easy and just for low skill clickers who are using their other hand for ... something else.

You're ruining all my illusions.

Turn chat off when playing arty. You get treated like a traffic warden :teethhappy: . Take the M44 out for a spin.

You could try this.  It's OK but having used it for a few weeks (to try it) I no longer bother.

Try the M53/M55 tier 9 American.  Easily the best arty in the game due to having a turret combined with decent pen & alpha.  Turret is basically cheating because you rarely if ever need to move your hull to adjust your aim.  American line in general is pretty good.

Other than that, just find a corner & click on stuff.

If you're still stuck type "how to play arty wot" into google for many many you tube videos & forum discussions on this fascinating subject.

You went up the wrong arty tree.

M53/55 is best for missions.  Maybe CGC because it gets to face a higher health pool (all tier X / Grand Battles).  Forget the rest.

Easy! Grab a 6pack of beer, put one hand on mouse and with free hand hold beer, grab some snacks and if necessary you can scratch your things if there is some itch :)

1. positions vary; depends on the arty you have(trajectory, velocity, etc). What works in one might not work in the other.

2. you have w. Actually, that's the main advantage of french arties - they're fast. Reposition to have shots.

3. play them like a light/paper med. You're support. You have the advantage of hitting without getting hit. Otoh, you don't really have "dpm". So, in a 3/5/7 template, if the top tier heavy(or whatever's the most important tank they have) doesn't hate your guts, you're doing it wrong :P

It's lame, I hate when I'm arty focused as much as any other guy, but a win is a win and 3/5/7 is lame anyway... If you don't have anything, sure, shoot at the bottom tier. But otherwise, there's no excuse not to focus on the actually dangerous targets.

4. you played enough lights/paper meds. So hopefully you spotted enough(didn't really look at your stats). Look at what your spotters are doing, preaim since you should know based on their position where the spots will be.

5. a kill is a kill even with 30secs reload. Taking out a gun is better than 300 more dmg.

6. get used not to really matter. And to a boring gameplay. If your team is bad, even as top tier you won't carry. Think the battles when I semi carried were probably under 20 in... dunno 500 arty games.

p.s. - be a normal person and play the US arties. Probably best for missions + 2nd campaign requires arties only for US/UK/Poland. Requires for main objectives, not secondaries. Again, the gameplay is really *ucky and boring so I doubt you want to grind more than 1 line.

This only works if you have 2 monitors.

1) Load in a game of WoT on one screen, playing with you favorite clickbot machine.

2) Open browser on other screen and find you favorite fab site.

3) Fab furiously

4) Once every 30 seconds, look at other screen and click at some red tank.

5) Go to 3

Congratulations, you can play arty now.

Do not try to do the above if you are in the FV304, or it's Tier 5 Brother The Bishop -it's well known that Bashing the Bishop too often will make you go blind ;-)

Arty is the perfect class to teach you map awareness, tactics and being able to recognise battle development from your mini map. Above all else these are the things you should develop and you will find yourself not only a better arty player but a better player in general.

Can't tell if you are serious.

Anyway, I see you deleted my post. Fair enough.

I hope some people found it at least a little bit amusing. :arta:

Actualy he`s right. Almost every time after shot I spend first 15seconds of reload by taking a look on minimap. Last 10 seconds of reload I start to aim. Huge mistake what arty players do is wasting time while waiting for scouted tanks. Dont waste that time, every single time players do same pattern. Just blindshot every single position only then when your help is vital for your teammates - start focus oneshots or targets who can clutch round.

Started american line, got to tier 5. Feels better then french one, but that autoloader arty is kind of kinky too.

It's pants.  It has the same gun as the tier 7 which fires three times with a 10 second reload then has to wait an eternity.  When it dropped bombs twice as fast with twice the damage and better accuracy than the other tier X arty then it had a use.  The turret has no more than novelty value since it turns so slow you end up turning your hull instead.
