So.. what happened between this frontline and the previous one??

 

the amount of bounces! so so many bounces.  and not frontal.. but side, on rear.. on meds, even on paper tanks!!  i bounce around 30%!! 

 

is this how wg "tweaked" frontline mode to make players use pay to win ammo??

Could be the server lags in FL mode....unless im the only one getting some weird spikes in there too often?.

No... It's pr the norm. Tho I only play meds for the most part. My T-44-100, Progetto and CDC pens what I expect them to pen. In between there I have a Pershing with the 160 pen gun. Even he pens shots I expect to bounce. Even had the derp gun one round for giggles. Had a fair few 300+ rolls vs Skorps, SU-130 PM's and even Progettos.

My guess is that RNG is so much more visible when you fight on grater distances most of the time. A plate that is 80% penetrable up close will be only 40% penetrable from afar, a 2mm deviation ffrom aim centre on 20 meters is barely noticeable, on 400m its a miss.

Though progetto for example feels sketchy, I swear that no other weakly armoured tank 0 dmg dectracks so often when hit cleanly in the side. I suppose it wouldnt be that unbelievable if WG tweaked few % here and there for best sellers....

I suggest you play some other game that doesn't involve tanks if bounces upset you so much, maybe a first person shooter, bullets don't bounce off people.

Yeah when you bounce a 750 damage shell on a light tank it makes you feel bad. RNG is RNG sometimes people bounce stuff on my Scorp G somehow so it goes both ways.

 

But if it helps, if you fight near a (safe) supply point and are sure you won't die, spam gold ammo since you can refill for free. Spamming gold makes a lot of difference and the extra shell velocity helps me sooooo much vs those LT's and mediums in FL.

Keep in mind that alot of engagements in FL are longer distances then your average WoT map. This makes alot of armor more reliable + the pen value drop comes into play. AP loses pen over range, not much, but can be noticeable at long ranges against armroed targets; APCR loses pen much faster & hence can be a drawback in long range fights. HEAT however doesn't lose pen over range, but as it has no normalisation bonus & tends to have slower shell speed so it arcs more & tends to impact at angles over long distances & HEAT doesn't like hitting angled armor.

 

In short; alot of shots you expect to pen on a standard WoT map might not make the cut on FL mode due to the distances involved.

Only played one game in FL some strange lags at times.... Randoms, however, were fine. Even stranger.

Yes, WG added +50% armor to all tanks in Frontline mode.

Most of gold ammo on tier 8 is APCR, which ricochets way more than your regular AP. So yeah, go on and spam gold in FL  :facepalm:

Larger open map = longer engagements = more RNG.

Exactly. A majority of my shots are at 500m or more vs randoms that are mostly at 100m more so then 500. So dispersion on your gun is not exactly 0.33 anymore at that range to hit where you want. Thus it going a little wide can mean hitting the spots that would auto bounce your shots or absorb it more so then pen it.

If there was, there would be more then one topic about it. Or at least something more then one would notice. Again I'm gonna pull out Destiny 2. As it took players less then 2 hours to notice, examine and prove that XP was rigged and altered one time after a patch. And that RNG was altered without notice a patch before that. As in non tinfoil observations.
