You need to reach prestige each monthly episode

10 months = 10x prestige which is prestige level 10

You need just under 4,500 points per day to reach prestige in the 7 days it is open for each month

That is roughly 3 hours playing per day for the average player for the 1 week it is open each month

To reach Prestige you need 30500 points.

Major is 900, General gets 1200, so that's 34 games approximately if you averaged Major most games, and 340 games to hit Prestige level 10.

Average game length is probably about 22-23 minutes, so arund 130 hours at that level spread over the 10 weeks of the year.

Don't waste your time, it is not worth it. You can earn the price of an STB-2 or WZ-111 with 30mins of work (depending on where you live or what you work of course), so 130hrs of grinding is a very bad investment. I'm sure that they will sell Emil 1951 also for real money.

I don't have the time to waste. I'm pretty much aiming for the stb, possibly the wz, if not that's also fine but I was just wondering how much it actually takes. It would be  quite fun for some of a summer holiday but not for this point in the year.

Nobody cares about those 2 because they're old and barely playable in todays meta

You need to give your life, heart, and soul to WG, then you just might have a chance:trollface:

Yes, I agree. But for a person with proper job, school, family (life) it is too much. Just buy them simply.

Unfortunately, yes. I have the STA-2 and it is everything but competitive even with the last year's buff. WG should at least increase its accuracy or mobility or just add some armour for the turret front. It is ridiculous against tanks even on the same tier (Progetto, Defender, etc.) not to mention its normal MM! Anyway, the whole Japanese med line is a forgotten one. Like the Chinese mediums.

P.S.: I have just seen that I wrote STB-2 instead of STA-2, sorry for that :D

You can try playing for credit income or for advancing tech trees in tier 8s. I've been playing for 3 days now (like 1-2h every day) and I'm at rank 14. Seems hard, but then I only want the emil 1951 and not the last one..

I feel your bewilderment. Having gone through the first 30 levels I figured I was now into prestige mode - and would have 10 harder levels to complete.

Oh no - that is not the WG way. Parabolic inclines is their modus operandi.

Each prestige level requires you to grind the entire 30 tiers again.  Then again.  Then again.

The game should rename itself.

Groundhog Day.

The Rock of Sisyphus.

The Black Hole of Temporal Reality.

I wish they had created different routes to each Prestige Level.  By that I mean leave the current 30 tier grind for those who don't make General much but add special challenges that shortcut the grind.  Like 10k damage - and 10k assist - 10k spotting - 200 cap points - 200 cap defence points - etc.

At least that would add some variety and challenge to what is otherwise a dampener on my enjoyment of the Front-line mode.

The grind element is disappointing.

You need to have no life no friends and be prepared to value your time at about 25p-50p per hour Yep slave labour looks good value in comparison ( at least as a slave you get fed, clothed and a roof over your head as well ) but then this is wargamming lets do something that challenges unicom/super unicom and sod the rest of the player base.

Are you saying that FL challenges unicums/superunicums?

Only in that it takes them a few hours for each prestige  level so maybe as an example a SU can do all 30 levels in about 25-30 games and a U in about 30-38 games. but the real level of challenge should be set for the average player attaining Lt or Cpt most games with the odd Sgt. It should NOT be set at a challenge at higher than this because that is when it becomes a grind that takes up way too much time and effort and actually reduces the fun factor.

Assuming you average the below ranks

How long it will take to unlock the tier 9 in hours (excl. load times and etc):

Sergeant: 712

Lieutenant: 305

Captain: 178

Major: 119

General: 89

 from http://forum.worldof...00-hours-grind/

And you need to play for at least 7 months out of 12 I believe.
