Yeah you'd get less rolfstomps.
But the general balance would become even more out of wack than it already is (If no other changes are applied).
More hp means more time but not necessarily more forgiving play style. Short battles or catastrophic failures are the result of bad positioning/bad play that the enemy manages to capitalize on not from the lack of hp.
I guess the idea came from FL turrets!

There are loads of massively forgiving tanks and maps in the game that absolutely baby players and try to protect them from their idiotic mistakes, they still find a way to die.
I mean you see people who do zero damage in like Japanese heavies, or IS7s on corridor maps, and it is just baffling.
Game IMO needs to be made harder and more punishing, so evolution takes affect and survival of the fittest happens, that way the ability of the playerbase will slowly improve over time because the weak players if they don't adapt will just leave.
It would buff heavies more and light tanks would suffer the most.
So basically imbalance the current high tier gameplay even more.

That said while flat out doubling everything isn't a good solution I'm in favour of a hp increase across the board to balance out the powercreep from the past years. It would make battle outcomes less abrupt.
I think lower tier HP should be buffed or damage nerfed.+100% hp in tier 4 eg. would be nice
It would make the tier playable. Below tier 6, HP is just stupidly low so a single mistake often means death.
I think higher tiers could benefit from a range between +20% to +50% HP buff and that would instantly make the game more fun since FV4005 moments wouldn't be the end.
Well if anything it would jump the team bonus if you win by elimination. But if your team is camping cap and being lemming spotted. It won't reduce roflstomps. Just extend them with more farming if anything.
But, WOT blitz did double or add 1.5X HP to some tanks vs PC. Why? Because they have 7 vs 7's. Thus to not make each battle a 2 min fight. They make you fight longer by facing bigger HP targets. Even then, most matches are over in less then 4 min.
Closing/flattening Hitpoint gaps across tiers was one of the good things that was done in the other tank game. It makes the game less punishing if you make a small mistake while fighting +2 tier enemy and I'd love to see that in WoT. The DPM would also have to be more linear progressing than now, but thats a different topic (anybody wants to discuss crazy DPM @ T-34 with 57mm gun?)
If now Tier 1 tanks have 100-150 HP, that would be buffed to like 400-500 and from there each tank would be a progressive upgrade up to what we have currently in T10.
Example: Object 140 line;
This would give a better fighting chance for bottom tier tanks WHILE keeping (reduced) advantage of top dogs.
