Got mine this morning. All that while going at work and skipping a week-end for ... reasons. Unlikely that i will use it anytime soon, though. The worst thing that i can think is its presence in Frontlines...

Wait, so this event didn't end this morning like it said in the Combat "Intelligence" in game? So I wasted my money because I happened to look at the end date from the wrong source... Thanks again WG...

Got it too. I must admit that the be-in-top-10 requirement was a very fair choice by WG, because being in top 10 by exp doesn't rely on MM and win on lose. Also, with such a load of games to win and exp to gather the 2-week period made it a lot more achievable than during previous 1-week marathons.

In my opinion this marathon is fail (at least from player base perspective)

I reached 70% and I will still not going to buy the tank.

Progetto with value of 11K & good bundle vs. EBR with value of  7K gold & useless bundle

Yeah, if you don't get it for free and have no real interest to the tank, there is no reason to throw money at WG or they will milk even harder in the future. I have got convinced that only way to stop this milking is to not to give them money for these ridiculous 'offers'. Got EBR 75 myself for free and the grind was way too hard, I played tanks for winning conditions with 75% wr, spammed battles to get top 10 xp and did primary conditions with tier 9 +3k dpg but it still took a lot of time.

The crew comes with BIA-skill, but does it count as first skill, or does it work like the ones we used to get like female crewmembers and do your get BIA for free and does the next one count as first?

I don't suppose you have the same figures for the Progetto?  I'm seeing far fewer EBR 75 than I did of the Italian but that could just be that people buy them but don't play them as much.

I did several times these check points along some marathons. But I don't have the numbers for the Progetto event.

And you are right Homer_J, the proper way is comparing figures from different marathons, to have a glimpse of the success.

Searching my archives, what I've found for:

T-44-100 => 39994 at the end; 42683 after some time.
Note: Alot of people need an absolut break after a marathon, or are just waiting for equipment to play their 1st game on the reward.

T25 Pilot => 357 sold on the 1st day; 2989 after 8 days; 102288 at the end.

Panhard EBR 75 => 1737 bundles sold after 5 days.

Pilot vs Panhard: The interest in both tanks seems similar, for the first wallets!?

Bought it last night for 90% off.

What can i say about this marathon .... WG keeps trying to squeeze more and more money out of us and this marathon had 3 new tactics :

1 - Stage 4/6 are win dependent while 7/9 were massive grind dependent; they have done a huge job to make it so that skill becomes less relevant

2 - the first marathon where the tank is worth less than the rest of the bundle, it is about 40% of the bundle while in the past it was 60% of the bundle

3 - the win/top 10 dependent games look nice untill you realize that the only way past them to is to spam t6's for 10hs straight at those 4 stages that have them as mandatory. I'll go as far as to say that the 13 57 is simply not that good anymore to do the job, what you wanted was stuff like t6 heavies or E2, 85M, M44.

I don't have a t8 light and the Type 64 is just a horrible tank to play with the hyper accurate arty at mid-tiers, and the increase in HE high pen with the introduction of the french wheeled tanks, so that's why i bought it ... otherwise i would not have bothered.

Indeed it is and yes, I'm fine.  All coffee'd up and looking forward to some lunchtime Gouda.

There is some discussion elsewhere that WG pushed this one a bit too far.  IMO the only real way to say is how many they sold.

Interesting that it compares with the Pilot, you don't see many of those any more.

Thank God it's over.

First marathon out of last 4 (or 5) where I DID NOT GET (bought) the tank.

And we are ten of thousands who WILL NOT buy it because of the insulting marathon offer.

Most tier VIII meds are significantly UP in current MM, especially those that are not russian or don't have autloader. WG preffer to release shiny new OP premium tank than buffing old ones.

Not only that, this thing hot wheels car is not suitable for tanks game. It's World Of Tanks so what do armored cars doing in it, going this route what will be next infantry?

Got it on the 5th, finished stage X around 21:00.

The grind wasnt difficult, just looooong and boooooring.

And the stage rewards were very underwhelming, some more boosters or a unique camo would be nice.

it also dropped my WR down to 50.01% but my WN8 went up. Idkr...

I tried playing lots of different tanks, but for the “x amount of base xp” I used the M40 because it had the highest base xp average according to my records. Also finished SPG mission 1-14 for the T55 in it while grinding

For the “Win x games” I mostly used my LT-432 because somewhow I still have a 56% wr in it... yeah, that’s how OP it is. And also did LT 1-14 for the T-55 while grinding. And I really enjoy playing it, which helps if you’re doing a marathon.

Was it worth it? Well, I had nothing better to do and there’s only so much daytime TV you can watch. I don’t think I can give a value judgement on the tank, it will take some time to get used to the driving and play style. First game in it I rocked up 4.5k spotting, then was useless the next 5 games.

Truthfully, I doubt I’ll play another full marathon again because

a) I have no short term plans to get knee surgery again

b) I normally don’t have enough free time to do it and you can buy the same tank without the bundle crap 1-2 months later anyway.

c) It made me start to dislike playing because it felt more like an underplayed job than a game.

The Challenge on Wheels Rolls Out, 21Feb-7Mar. Panhard EBR 75 - From the Wot-news, EU servers:

18Feb: 1049 December codes;
25Feb: 5th day of the marathon; => 1,737 bundles sold almost without discount.
4Mar: 3 days to the end of the marathon;
11Mar: After the end;
18Mar: The end of the FL episode 2; 45,709 - 1,049 = 44,660.

Note: A lot of players may have played their EBR 75 only on FL.

Note: 104k AMD 178B rolled until 18Mar.
26k Hotchkiss.
15k Lynx 6x6.
4.7k EBR 90.
3.2k EBR 105.

Well coordinated between the first two FL episodes. Who's more happy: the marketing or the EU players??
