Quote

A patch is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to!

- Gandalf on French tanks, new US tanks, Second German/Sov lines, etc.

Ah thanks for reminding me of the White Wizard;

When defending a choke point or picking off a T-50 tearing towards arty:

"You shall not pass!"

and there are a few tankers called Balrog... to use it on.

The black night is trying for Billott's Medal

If infantry are ever introduced they must have the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch as a special weapon for dropping down tanks' hatches

"Never tell me the odds" when driving a significantly lower tier tank

quote that springs to my mind whenever I see tanks swarming across open field to awaiting enemy guns:
"You know what's gonna happen? I'll tell you what's gonna happen. Troops are now forming behind the line of trees. When they come out, they'll be under enemy long-range artillery fire. Solid shot. Percussion. Every gun they have. Troops will come out under fire with more than a mile to walk. And still, within the open field, among the range of aimed muskets. They'll be slowed by that fence out there, and the formation - what's left of it - will begin to come apart. When they cross that road, they'll be under short-range artillery. Canister fire. Thousands of little bits of shrapnel wiping the holes in the lines. If they get to the wall without breaking up, there won't be many left. A mathematical equation... But maybe, just maybe, our own artillery will break up their defenses. There's always that hope. "
(gen. Longstreet, movie Gettysburg - 1993)

"Let them burn!" if enemy top tank is set on fire...

In-game I often think of the scene on the bridge of the star destroyer;

"They're moving into attack position!?"
When pulling off an audacious manourve to flank a superior enemy at close range, or when last-ditch ramming in an SPG

I have a mathematical background so the application of differential equations on the battlefield resonates with me.
Whilst it is good to learn from your own mistakes, it is often better to observe and learn from the mistakes of others.

And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying,
'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.'

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin.
    Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less.
    Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three.
    Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.
    Five is right out.
    Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe,
who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.'

The addition of the birds on rural maps has had my enjoying them through the sniper view;

Just then I recall what happened to Paul Bäumer in the final scene of Erich Marie Remarque's
All Quiet On The Western Front(1979 version)
and this reminds me I am in a battle here!

"Well, the Empire doesn't consider a small light tank to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia has demonstrated a weakness in the Maus. But the approach will not be easy. You are required to maneuver straight down his flank and skim the surface to this point. The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the ammo-rack system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the Maus. Only a precise hit will set off a chain reaction."

"That's impossible, even for a Sniper"

"It's not impossible, I used to bullseye t-50's in my T16 back home, they're not much bigger than 5 meters"

"Then man your tanks, may the Force be with you"

(Liberally adapted from SWepIV)

Recited every time you're reloading your T92?

Ok new one for IS-7 drivers:
"I Am Invincible! Slugheads!"

Then the aforementioned T-92 shell lands.

  "Free thoughts, the wind in your hair on the open Steppe and Valkyries at your breast"
"NO! you are wrong, Conan tell them"

  "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentatons of their women!"

(from memory so I may have paraphrased slightly I like this so much see below :Smile-izmena: )

Paraphrasing Venkman from Ghostbusters.
"Back off man!  I'm an artillerist."  Used that before in my S51 when someone's camped ontop of me!

"IT'S GO TIME!" Buck Tudrussel-The Time Squad, when I finally got my E-75.
A little offtopic here, but when I'm killed in my Slugger/Marder I often think of the conscript's line in RA 3, when he is shot at: "Next time I drive tank, okay?".

Think I found another well fitting quote:

"We're surrounded. That simplifies the problem! Now we can fire in any direction,  those bastards won't get away this time!" -CHESTY PULLER, USMC  :lol:
