"we will test the new Matchmaker on the European servers for a few days in near future."

Is it WG's "ASAP"? 5-6 months?

Can WG give us a solid date?

The date is secret, as "To avoid different playing behaviour during this test, we will not share the exact date or timeframe. This allows us to get the best and most accurate results."

Well, then it is better to wait until WG will present the result of the test. (Because the current state of WoT does not motivate to play the game)

Ah yes, I remember now. Because WG tell us that the queue is the whole problem. You know the single thing that nobody ever complains about.....

Block Quote

At the same time, the queue is very dynamic and changes literally every second. This is not only due to the natural evolution of our game, the queue is affected by some additional in-game factors that increase the workload on the queue, for example:

  • Ongoing events
  • Challenges
  • Special offers

The natural evolution of the queue has led to two new serious issues that we're currently struggling with.

  1. Tanks often are bottom of the list and have to battle against adversaries of higher tiers, which is not always enjoyable. This is especially true for Tier VI and VIII vehicles.
  2. Players with preferential Premium vehicles play most their battles against vehicles one tier higher, in the 5-10 template and are rarely getting matched with vehicles of their tier and one-tier lower. As a result, such a situation eliminates the benefits of preferential matchmaking.

But the templates in the current matchmaker architecture are strict, so they cannot quickly adapt to the queue evolution. So, many players today are more often at the bottom of the list, and this is the most important thing we want to change.

Same-tier battles in particular, will become more frequent,

I don't understand why it took so many years of  WoT, in any case I hope this will lead into a majority of same tier battles

How about make that Matchmaker +1 / -1 WG.
Balancing tanks would be easier for this mm.
+2 mm is like punish for most of the tanks, good reason why players enjoy playing tier 9.
And your player base have been asking this for last 5 years...

I think that matching tanks tier-for-tier has become less important than matching players based on skill.  I'm sick of being in battles where the enemy team has two blues, four greens and all yellows and my team is all red and orange.  Being top tier on a side that loses 2-15 is not fun.  The imbalance has caused me to play WoT so rarely these days that WG have started emailing me incentives to play again.  I'm not saying that players should only ever meet players of their own skill level — just take the same 30 players and distribute them evenly between the two teams.  WG knows the efficiency rating of every player so that should be a factor in allocating players to each team who were already selected for the battle by the MM because of the tank that they are using.

Fix the player balance first, WG.

Can we also get an arty-free MM?

I'd say restrict arty to one per game would be fine, or two max. Three as we often get now is far too much.

Look forward to trying it out.

I can accept a format that gives a greater number of same tier battles while also giving us games where we are also seeing higher and lower tiers.

Currently playing say 30 games I expect to see lower tier tanks in maybe 1 or 2 games

So my tier 8 tank will meet tier 7 tanks in 2 out of 30 games tier 6 tanks well that's quite rare.

Most of those 30 games will be all tier 8,  a mix of Tier 8 and 9, or 8 9 and 10.

If the new MM can increase the numbers where I meet lower tiers to say 6 7 or 8 games out of 30 that's perfectly acceptable.

This would mean  a decent chance to complete all kinds of missions as well as making stock grinds of tanks a little easier.

wasn't going to sidetrack the discussion by bringing in SPGs but since its just been mentioned.

With the current MM the SPGs everyone are facing are same or higher tier which can be a problem.

SPGs in a game 1 2 3 I really don't care as most games they are a minor annoyance.

However now the odds are that all the SPGs you meet will be much more dangerous

3-5-7 - 5-5-5 who cares about that the mm have 2 problems

+2 mm being one of them

mm dont match up players it match tanks problem with this is that you get teams with good players vs bad players and thats the steamroll problem

so just make it +1 and add personly rateing to the mm and everything would be okay

FINALLY ! Only taken nearly 2 years to fix utterly broken 3/5/7. Something players knew within 2 weeks was not working.

Frontlines next week so they can't try the new MM then as a lot of tier 8's will be pulled out of random battles, then again this is WG we are talking about !

Interesting change coming and Ill look future what it brings.

But also it would be nice to balance MM looking for experience also. Its not all about tanks tier, because players who havent play more than example 5k battles can mess up battle well. Either they camp battle trough or then they rush straight to get crushed. Or how about team playing???

Many things can fixed many times, before they can get balanced MM. Until then I am skeptical about the reforms that concern MM.

1 arty or none should be epic.. 1 arty is annoying enough, no need for more.

For as long as youre not redesign differences between tiers ( like starting with 300 HP for tier 1, so they dont die so easy fighting each other, and with smaller increase with each tier, so a tier 6 wont one shot a tier 4 ) any variant of +- 2 is garbage and not entertaining to whoever is at the bottom. no matter how often.

And i really dont see how adding more templates reduce the times a tier 6 or 8 will be bottom tier.

Please, add one more step to MM - after picking the teams, the matchmaker should look at any rating (can be the in-game rating) and distribute players evenly between the teams rating-wise - because the constant 5:15 loses or 15:5 wins are the worst problem with MM for me. I really don't mind seeing tier X with tier VIII tanks often, but I do mind those imbalances.
