Hey guys,

So a couple of days ago I searched around the forums and the Internet to find out whether Clutch Braking would have any influence on wheeled vehicles, since I didn't find anything except some speculations and a post from The_Chieftain stating that it is an interesting questionand he would ask around (but never followed up).

I decided to ask the customer support: their answer was quite simple: It does affect wheeled vehicles, but not the turning radius itself and the effect would be as effective as choosing to train camo on a super-heavy tank.

Since I am not allowed to show answers of the customer support you`ll have to take my word for it or ask the support yourself.

Cheers :medal:

Imagine if they would... I don't know... Have a little note on the crew skills in-game that told players information like this... Would be amazing.

So it doesn't affect wheeled vehicles.

Because all it could affect is the turning radius/speed.

What about Offroad Driving? Does it help at all?

What?

It doesn't affect turning radius but it does affect wheeled vehicles?

What the F@& does it affect then?

It affects you by preventing you from having actual useful skill on your crew, so it basically nerfs your tank by the amount the other skill would buff it :)

Playing devils advocate here:

How sure are you that the CS that answered your ticket knows and understands the mechanic you were asking about?

There have been numerous posts here about CS not understanding some or other parts of the game mechanics.

You don't need to ask support for stuff like this... very easy to find the answer:

https://tanks.gg/tank/ebr-hotch?k=6

Picked the first wheelie that came to mind, insert clutch breaking skill and voilá.

There have been more than 1 case in the past when tank.gg showed old/incorrect info so don't take it as a reliable source of information regarding new mechanics/tanks.

Huh. Guess I should switch it out for controlled impact then to save me some bump damage.

Granted we should be careful about this kind of information and check each other's experiences. That said, would you rate tanks.gg's information as more, or less, reliable than CS replies? :P

tanks.gg vs CS replies is no contest really, tanks.gg got information about WoT, CS got info about our accounts and two button combinations CTRL+C and CTRL+V, however I'd still wouldn't take what tanks.gg shows as an absolute truth when it comes to new tanks and/or mechanics.

 tanks.gg got information about WoT,

tanks.gg has raw stats but not necessarily how the game uses those stats.

Well that at least beats WoT Customer Service most of the time.

I'm happy to help test.

Pretty certain I have French light crews both with and without clutch breaking, and an EBR 75 to throw them in

It only affects turning on soft terrain pretty much by effectively lowering the ground resistance value for that terrain.

So it does help with vehicles that turn like a boat when they drive on soft terrain or in water (like French LT's)

Little Late to this, and not enough Time to read everything being at Work and all, but....

Anyone tried Controlled Impact.....????

With how these things get Beat Up just nudging something, it's a Possible Option here Sooner than on most Tracked Vehicles in the Game.....      Between that and the Enhanced Suspension, could make some Near Bullet Proof Armored Cars...

Just thinking out Loud, I put the Enhanced Suspension on the EBR 75, but have yet to pick the 2nd Skills....      Might have to give it a Go and see what happens....

Ramming EVEN 90s works well even without that skill ;)
