Had the blackdog on a rental awhile ago and enjoyed it and have been waiting to get it, but obviously, this HWK 30 has come along. I haven't looked at the price yet cause I haven't got a premium account activated at this moment, so if someone could tell me that would be much appreciated. But is it worth getting the HWK 30 instead of the blackdog (unless it's a lot more expensive then no) now, or to wait for the blackdog?

Pretty much the same price. I would get it.

Blackdog has better DPM. I got 2699 vs 2527, 5.70s vs 5.33s reload without bonds.

HWK30 has better accuracy (except turrent traverse), gun handling, view range, camo, is more mobile (except traverse), has 50 hp more, higher standard APCR velocity (vs Blackdog AP), higher engine health and only 10% chance for engine fire compared to 20%.

Both have high pen HE.

They are the same gold price, cost me about £21 so about standard for a tier 8 light tank.

For me HWK 30 -> Blackdog, the HWK edges a lot of stats, its a bit more mobile, is a smaller, better camoed tank with more view range. Its a little more accurate and has better pen/shell velocity.

Has the same high pen HE rounds and even the HEAT rounds are faster.

It also has 2 degrees more gun depression.

It loses out on DPM and aim time, so for pretty much every role bar close range work I'd say its better, better active scout due to hp/ton, size, view range, better passive scout due to camo/view range, but sniper due to accuracy, pen and shell velocity, better ridge line worker due to the gun depression.

Close range dog fight circling, tracking, the Blackdog has the edge due to DPM, gun handling, and traverse speeds.

Sry, but to me hwk 30 looks like a mongoloid Leopard PTA. No, not doing it.

I would say that the HWK30 is a better tank then Bulldog.
The only thing Bulldog have over the HWK is dpm, the HWK is better in literary everything else.
So for 200 dpm you get better shell velocity  (rather huge difference), better accuracy, better mobility, better view range, better gun depression, smaller tank, less fire and engine damaged (Bulldog GF have issues with both imo).

The most "funny" thing is that WG thinks how to balance special ammo and then releases a premium tank which has faster HEAT compared to standard APCR (if tanks.gg is correct).

I'd say that the HWK30 is better in every way that matters. And in the ways it isn't better, it can compensate with food cause no need for fire extinguisher. It is roughly equivalent or better in every stat other than DPM and 100 DPM is nothing.

Have a look for yourself.

It has even faster shell velocity with HEAT, like the Ru251.

In fact the HWK30 is so good, it's basically just a Ru251 with less pen and better gun depression.

They are quite similar tbh.

But HWK 30 is slightly better, just because 10 degrees of gun depression and it's faster.

I would have though the better shell velocity would help as well.

Sounds like a decent Frontline option to me. Especially if you have a crew that can drop straight in.

Sure, but then again for 40 euros Progetto 46 is also available now.

And that's probably the best option for Frontline as general tank.

M41D more fun, faster and miles more agile, but really easy to hit, HWK more gun alpha but less snapshot ability and reload almost 50% slower

Progetto is in a class of its own because of the gun and has good mobility

All good fun

If I had to pick only 1 then Progetto followed by M41 because progetto can take so much advantage of those fleeting moments of opportunity

yes Progetto 46 seems very popular in Frontlines and probably for good reason.

I doubt I'll be spending though. I just dont have the spare cash for pixels at the moment.

But the HWK 30 is no longer in the shop it seems

If you have credits to spare the HEAT on this tank is absolutely bonkers broken, gives it essentially a tier X light tank gun. Coupled with the 410 vision range makes this a pretty deadly passive scout / sniper, really the only weakness is it's below average camo rating but still better than the blackdog.
