Your wrong, the defender doesn't just have camo. Its a skin. There are boxes, packs etc on the tank.

Plus it has the front and rear track guards removed. These are present on the standard OBJ 252U.

So, it isn't just a camo, and it did cost the same as the standard tank. Same as the Patriot and Liberte, which also cost the same as the standard tanks.

 

So an extra £10 for the silly skin is a complete rip off.

You forget about the german 105mm canons that have also 320 damage, like on the Löwe, Jagdpanther and Tiger II.

The playstyle is unique at least for a tier 8 premium medium. It is approximately like driving a light tank that is limited at 50km top speed and turns much slower but in comparison to a light it feels it is 'glued' to the ground, it feels much heavier.  OR it drives something like a heavy on speed boost from the football game last year, if you played it.

 

Usually the gun doesn't let you take snapshots. So you have to find a ridge and use the - 10 gun depression or some cover. When you want to shoot, you have to pause and aim for at least 1,5 - 2 seconds in order to have any chance to hit the target  To completely aim it takes maybe a little longer. Accuracy is pretty decent, I mean I hit more than I miss. Average I would say. 

 

It doesn't have a big size so you don't feel like you are definitely doomed when you are spotted from far away. Other tanks have this problem like CDC. 

 

I think you could enjoy it if you like tanks that are fast and play as a support role. The advantage it has is the big alpha and high acceleration in order to relocate. And big alpha is king in WoT. I also enjoy STG for this reason, but STG is pretty accurate, has slower acceleration and not good gun depression.

 

Watch also reviews on YouTube. But I must admit the reviews I watched haven't helped me imagine how the tank really feels like. This is what I tried to explain here.

 

Consider the fact that this is not an OP tank, though. But that is good for the game.

 

So, if you are a tank collector and want to enjoy unique playstyles, it is worth it. I really enjoy playing it. If you only want to get a premium which prints credits, I think there are better tanks out there. If you want a crew trainer for Swedish meds, it is worth it. Promo Victoria has turret armor though.

Well, I was more focused on medium tanks with that question.

 

Yes, I know those German tanks who have 320 alpha damage as well.

Viking theme is a great idea, but they went too far with it. A shield, the banner and some runes would be great, but with the whole shebang including swords, helmets, drinking horns etc etc, It's.. too much.

IMO you can make cool modern designs inspired by history without going all-out WoW-fantasy-style. It's tacky.

Ah well, at least it's proper viking helmets and not those horned factoids that I'm used to seeing.

 

So basically balanced means crap, having read the comments and even watched QB's review of this,nothing, nothing about this tank stands out, now when even a serial premium buyer like me holds back you know there is something not right, after all the people wanting the CDC buffed, this comes along and is practically the same sort of thing, a a one shot wonder, don't buy it unless you as a as good as QB in his games.

Only played 27 games in it so far, but the average damage I do in the Lancen is a lot more than in all my other tier 8 meds.

Thats why i am not buying it. Comparing it with a M4A1 / STG / CDC those tanks are not good and if ur an avarage player then win rates in those tanks will suffer and DMG output also. 

 

Actually i will do the same as with the KanonenPanzer i got it for xmas with gold & the camo also so i will get this for xmas 2019 if its gonna be available for gold...

The tank is pretty good even with it's potato accuracy and carboard armor, I sometimes am surprised to take bounces! However it will probably be a matter of time until they will nerf it with hidden stats. It's has like an aura of success on it... for now!

I love the tanks ability to perform well, the gun accuracy can troll me on occasion, but it's very fun to play thus far!

So how can a tank with no armour and nothing special about it's gun be fun to play? You have fifteen minutes to find somewhere which my give you cover, and if you cannot do that in 30 seconds best to suicide in it, and then that gun, snapshotting is what the game is about, I just don't get this tank, The few games I have played, and these have been on my team, I have not once seen anyone of the do well. I like the STG for it's gun, this I just cannot work out what it has going for it, you want our money WG you have to gives better than this.

I’m not sure what your point is exactly, you seem to have a problem with most tanks that go on sale here from what I’ve seen of you on the forums. Your stats suggest you have difficulties with the game in general so let folks spend their money on what they want. Your opinion would probably carry some weight here if you could actually play. Let the tank reviews etc. to the unicums etc. because they know what they’re talking about and generally what they say is good advice.

Because it has decent enough armour for a medium, close to the mobility of a CDC with a gun that trolls a little more and needs more care but has a harder punch. I shared a replay of a 5.6k damage game, that's how it can perform.

Quite enjoying mine. Mobility is nice, gun hits hard but is derpy.  However, the turret ring is made of cheese.  Not sure if that's where auto aim hits on the Lansen, but my turret ring gets jammed a lot.

Have any of you even counted the number of premium tanks Nooby bought? That's a huge contribution to the game and the paychecks of WG staff guys. Have any of you seen the posts where Nooby openly makes fun of his own stats?

What's the point of having Lansen Armor in a tank, except for Arty and Rams, it's just useless, better have no armor at all and good mobility and low profile.

 

Paper tanks with bad, slow aiming guns, its the most aberrant combo ever... see LEO... better play a TD then or a light tank.

As in mediums are not well armoured, but the angling is perfectly adept at deflection occasional shots and hits. The armour is enough to be able to win the occasional trade with a medium and come out on top, to be able to bounce big hits from long range. 

 

I am curious if you've played the Lansen?
