Can't see them doing it, you would only ever need one crew per line, no need for additional bunk spaces or crew retraining so no gold being spent.

Which is why I think they should allow it, but limit the amount of tanks the crew can "remember".

Imagining the crew walking up to a Patton, for instance, and scratching their heads as they stare longingly at it.

'Wait a minute. What's this thing? Did we drive this one before?'

'I have no idea; I don't remember!'

Well ...

Crew could have an option to be trained for a primary and a secondary tank

I'm not saying they "forget" it entirely, just not being able to use it at the 100% level without a refresher course.

Imagine starting driving on a manual shift car, learning to use it to perfection, but then switching to an automatic for years.  When you go back to the manual shift you are going to be a bit rusty and need some time to get back the skills.

However, maybe you could regain the % points at double (or more) the speed for tanks you've been in before?

Or they can make premium account more worth it:

-premium account can place any tank crew in a previous tank in the same lane?

I like that, but think that non premium accounts should have a way to have the same benefit.   Maybe for silver or with a reduced grind.

Most players can't seem to remember which end of the gun barrel the shell comes out of, why do we think the crew can remember how to drive a tank they drove 4 tanks ago?

Think of the crew members and their families!

Not only are they forced into tanks which they should remember, but mysteriously don't, but they also are have to listen to the inept commands of some phantom being that keeps having them drive around in circles, camp behind a rock while their team mates die or drive off the sides of cliffs.

I think that at a minimum they shouldn't have to have their memory wiped every time that they are shoved into a new tank after being brought back to life 10 to 1000 times while grinding the old one.

One of the ways WG makes profit from WoT is people paying gold to retrain their crews as they unlock tanks.  You're another player who doesn't understand why WoT exists.

True. It's a good source of income I suspect still. But... it would not be a terrible idea to even add more tanks they qualify for a price. As in for free you can have 2 tanks pr crew for instance by limiting it to the same line or just limit it to the same class etc as the first tank on the list. And the 2nd and 3rd for gold pr crew. As in this stage of the game with so many with 30K games or more. It won't make that much of a difference. And it will help new players more if they can play the tier 5 for profit with the same crew they play the tier 6 with XP. And have the same crew for tier 7 and 8. Vs retraining them, or starting a new 75% crew on the tier 8 as he can't train them in a premium, or can't get them up with gold etc.

If they allowed that it would destroy the game

All the experienced players with highly skilled crews would be able to use them at any tier so new players would keep running into 5 or 6 skill crews at lower tiers.

Current situation isn't bad you just run more than one crew on a tank line

You nearly always find a tank you like playing and keep it after you move the crew on to another tank.

Buy a replacement crew for credits use that in the lower tier tank.

Strangely enough it is already allowed as long as your regular crew are operating a premium vehicle, which they can do without any training in that vehicle. Now I wouldn't like to the option that a crew can remember all tanks they have been trained in, especially when this could be across type. I would like to have the option for being able to return crews to previously trained vehicles of the same type, even if that is limited to the last 3.

Well, it seems to me that such a solution would help to keep alive the low and mid tier matchmaking. And THIS should for sure be in WG's best interest.

A win/win maybe?

wait, you don't have a dedicated crew for every vehicle?

I surely do, at least for the french HT in my garage.
