Heyo!

What about having maps with more weather elements in them? Night/evening, rain, fog (reduces view range for all tanks)? Aurora borealis? It wouldn't be too dark, look at the night maps on different battlefield games, but it would be interesting! Especially the fog, everybody would have to brawl a bit more.

What do you think?

Actually, this sounds like a good idea

In WoWs there are times when a cyclone crosses the ocean and reduces spotting distance. The sky simply goes a bit darker with a warning of a cyclone inbound so it isn't cpu draining. A very similar thing could be done in WoT with heavy rain, and the change in tactics could be interesting, maybe reducing spotting to the same distance for every class and every level of crew training to temporarily allow pushes against sniping positions etc. The key thing though is that it would be a massive advantage to fast tanks that can cross a map before the rain or fog lifts, allowing them to run around behind enemy lines (even worse that the Mario rally tanks do now), but perhaps they could be substantially handicapped by getting stuck in mud?

Great idea especially night battles, reduced view range and ability to see muzzle flash within render range.

Very good thinking..it may cause programers hell for them.. but I like the way the slip factor works in the game and would love it if they gave the choice for spg to get some better tracks, but they do not.. why would they not do that.. sorry slight change of topic, but if you had bad snow falling or rain ..one would expect that players would like to play with some thought and improve the tracks .. but spg who would like to move to hard to get to spots..can't??? Why not?

I've been wanting this and suggesting this ever since 1.0, and even way before too.

My guess (and the guess of a few others) is that they postponed working on weather features in order to allow even the weakest PC's of today to play WoT.

With the new Multithreading mechanics and knowing that only a fraction of the curent playerbase uses potatoes to run WoT, I think it's high-time to get crackin' on some snow, rain and fog effects...maybe even duststorms for desert maps?

Night mode already works well, as we all saw during last year's Halloween event. Some viewrange adjustments could be added though...

Isnt there something in Blitz that has this already? Could have sworn I once saw a replay with heavy rain. Either way, its an excellent idea. Closest we have at present is the tornado on Highway, not that it really restricts anything, except for adding some wind effects.

Everybody would have to brawl a bit more... so you essentially want a game mode that increases russian bias...

aside from that aspect I would relish dynamic weather.

Maybe some natural disasters as well like random sudden river floodings :P and buildings crumbling on top of you
