Merit, assuming this is not a troll post, is recognition.

You give a reward to someone for performing above and beyond their call as *recognition* for their efforts.

Of course, that has a lot to tell you....

Merit is a measure of the value you provide to a particular group, whether it's your friends, local community, or whatever. In the specific case of the Reward for Merit in the game, I'm beginning to suspect that it's based on how much you have helped the enemy team to achieve their objectives.

Blueprint system is the reason.

You collect random blueprints and discounts for tanks you don't have and probably had no plans getting at all or at least in the near future - for many people that's a huge incentive to start going for those tanks because they hate leaving freebies and discounts unused. I know, because I'm exactly like that too.

So instead playing their favourite tanks (which many players do - they get tanks they like and play them all the time), people have more incentive to start researching new tech trees. And this means getting new crews for tanks, free xp converting and the need for a lot of credits.

Of course, same as personal missions 2.0 and new marathons, this is not a bad thing. WG trying to give people incentive to play new tanks is way better than introducing some p2w mechanic (I imagine more types of premium shells would be the first step, for example premium AP with more damage, premium HE with more penetration etc.) and it's not like we don't get anything out of it, for example - discounted research means reaching elite status faster, which means more XP for crew.

Yeah but that's not how this thing works though.

Yep. I've got merit awards in losing battles with poor performance. If it was given for heroic actions in trying to save an awful team, say three kills or top five on damage as bottom tier, it would be some compensation, but it seems to follow the unfortunate tradition of getting an award just for turning up.

I can now confirm that the award for Merit is complete [edited]

Tier VIII to X and me in my SU-101 on Tundra. I survived with 211 damage which put me 14th on my team and 27th overall for damage (three players having zero) and the only successful (miraculous) thing is that I somehow blocked a shot from a JPz E100. BOTTOM on XP of my team and I get an award for Merit.

Confirmation that the medal for turning up mentality is alive and well. I suppose that the only way I could have been worse is to be on the losing team.

Not working for me, i have to say in front that i play a pure vanilla client of the game so no problem because of mods.

http://prntscr.com/n977vk Check the SS. I realized like after 15 games after not getting anything that is missing something, what is wrong? Any help?
