Finnish tank ace Reino Lehväslaiho (1922 Akaa, Finland - 2019 Seinäjoki, Finland) has passed away in the age of 96 years.

Reino Lehväslaiho fought in three wars, Winter war, Continuation war and War of Lapland. He wounded three times. Fearless Sergeant major Lehväslaiho destroyed seven tanks with his T-34 during the Continuation war. He was wounded badly in fierce submachine gun fighting battle against Russian infantry in Tali-Ihantala tank battle in the summer 1944, but recovered quickly and returned tank troops during the War of Lapland. After the WW II he began a career of a writer, writing several dozens of war novels, most famous of them "Panssarisotaa" (Tank War).

WoT players know him well as the game has honoured him with "Lehväslaiho medal".

I was happy to meet this charismatic hero couple of times and he was just like he used to say: "In the end of my life I will be a soldier."
