I find low tier game-play unsatisfying and boring, myself. Really hate them, although tier 6 is somewhat bearable, in still I will avoid playing there if I can (have enough free xp to skip the grind).

When you pick the right tanks it is pretty easy.

I was so sick of the high tier play that I experienced yesterday morning that I took out my tier IIIs.

Three battles Pz IC. Loss. Loss and unsatisfying win.

Marder II. WON. Four kills and 758 damage, iirc.

SU-76M. I think it was two losses and one win again.

I did very badly in the Pz IC, but still managed to come about third on damage with a kill in a tier IV battle- with about 200 HP damage- so that says a lot about the standard of that team. I think half had zero damage.

In the SU-76M on Prokhorovka we had an AFK Hetzer, a redline camping tier III Premium and a generally bad team. I was in the top five on damage, but not sure where, exactly.

On Himmelsdorf, I killed a Pz38na and was in-turn killed by an M2 derp. Our tier IV TD managed to turn himself on his side and did bog all.

Edit- the winning battle was on Abbey. All tier III, I did well and a small handful of survivors managed to carry the win. I say small handful, but one of the survivors in a Marder II fired one shot the entire battle!

So I can hold my own, but as I said- you face levels of uselessness that are often far less in higher tiers.
