Yes there is no voting any more but decisions made on the longest time since being featured and through internal decision process.

Didnt have this on my immediate list to grind, but given the 5x bonus (will likely buy the additional) - I’ll give it a go (currently low amount of matches on ARL 44). Would never have done that on the old format (which was more a gift to those already unlocked tier X or close to it) - so new format works!

 

My post made no reference to the x5 missions, and if you want the ARL/AMX m4 45 ginds to go fast, buy the 105mm with gold .... while we can still use it.

Gonna be a fun grind after so many armored vehicles.

 

Last night i had 2 carries in the AMX M4 45, the gun handling with the 105mm and APCR is awesome.

I didn't expect that this tank would be Top of the tech tree and be played a lot, since there are so many derpnoobs around. would be nice if a good line like that would be played more.

sucks that I didn't start earlier on those French.. at least I can get the first 1 or 2 French heavies with discount =)

Like this format, need to get the AMX M4 45 done. Finding it difficult compared to the ARL 44 which is a keeper with the 105mm . As there is only going to be one line per month they could be a bit more generous with the discount. 30% for higher tiers .

Upon studying the Tier 4 heavy B1 and the guns it gets, am I being optimistic if I hope it sees only tier 2 opponents? 

 

As a side note, I think this is the first time I actually noticed the Tier X AMX M4 54 with its' big gun. It looks quite badass (from the front, at least). Do people play it, or is it one of the forgotten ones?

I just happened to have got the ARL 44 recently so I might actually do this Top of the Tree for the first time ever this time. As for keeping the ARL, was playing it last night and it is a weird tank that trolls badly at times with its armour and gun. I was penned from the front last night by an M3 Lee and a Hezter (heat) and two of my APCR rounds bounced off them, it was the most bizarre thing I think ever happened in a game to me in WoT. Really the armour is paper but the 105mm when it works is real fun and makes the tank a keeper for me, just. I aced it last night and was a whisker off 8 kills and had a few other good games in it so i'll keep it... just.

ARL is ok-ish, obviously not Soviet. Played the 50 100 mostly in CW, SH and FL. Could get the 50 120, but bot sure if I want to.

I can't say I am looking forward to the AMX M4 45, seems like an ARL a tier up that'll face tier 9 with ARL's guns and barely more armour.

AMX M4 45 is going to be pure joy compared to the 50 100.

 

It's very difficult for me to put in words the kind of misery i am enduring right now with the 50 100, and why the tank is so bad, but the tank is so bad that by it's very existence it is dragging down your team, while the enemy might get a defender during the present sale.

 

50 120 is not going to be much better, after looking at the stats, it is the line where the t7 is good, t10 is good ... the rest are pain and misery in the current MM and meta.

Great! Maybe I should forget about grinding any further down this line. I suppose I liked the idea of the auto loader on the tier 8 heavy and with top of the tree thought I might as well go from ARL. I've got an Lorraine 44t which I quite like for Frontlines.

I would say to deffinitely go for it, the 50B makes up for it, but the playstyle is messed up on 50 100 and 50 120 for a number of reasons.

 

50 100 :

• you have emil I levels of side arnor (or CDC) which means none.
• all guns have horrible gun handling, the main differnce is in pen/alpha/caliber and clip load time ... so you kinda need the 100mm to trade effectively, while at the same time assuming huge prices for ammo, and a huge reload; the 90mm dca 45 has a 34s reload ... the 100mm has a 50s base reload. This means that you have to make better use of your shots
• the stuff above, especially once you use 100mm is that you are hugely dependent on your team, you cannot do things alone ... if the team is good, it's great ... if it sucks, you can't change that
• you can use same top engine as m4 45 which is great because you get a tank with 17 hp/t straight off the bat.

50 120 :

• same gun handling and aimtime issue, so you kinda need to go for the 120mm
• your tank has gained weight, so much so that you need to research the new engine which is 25k xp ... without it you are super sluggish on a peak and shoot tank
• same paper tank
• with top gun, intraclip reload goes up to 3.33s from 2.73s ... puts you even further into the realm of 'single shot tank with fast reload for a number of shots' and removes you from autoloader territory

 

So basically, in both cases you have to pick your battles very well, and you will get the ocasional tk from allies for 'not playing your part as heavy tank'.

Thanks, I unlocked the AMX M4 45 today - so I guess I gotta buy it tomorrow at discount and continue at least...  ARL has the paper armour too, still not sure I will keep it.  I can't imagine I wanna play it again now, though I like the gun, when it isn't trolling me. Mobility for a heavy and gun depression are pretty nice, but again, paper armour.  I can't imagine I would really ever wanna play it again now I aced it last night and unlocked the m4 45. For me the likes of KV 85, T150 kick its butt as tier 6 heavies, really. Russian bias I guess... though maybe I prefer it to the Churchill 7 - simply for gun and mobility. 

 

With experience of the Lorraine 40t and how you need to manage your shells and time for reloads I have some experience of what to expect for the 50 100 - so I will drag myself on and see how it goes. Have you played the 50 100 in Frontlines at all?
