I keep getting sound glitching in battle, doesn't happen anywhere else. Engine and gun sounds cut out constantly. No other game has issues, drivers are up to date. Changing the sound settings mid battle used to help but no longer does anything. Any ideas?

Was ages ago since I experienced those issues but had it happen a lot last year, my most stable fix at the time was going with 2.0/2.1 sound. However since then the game have been updated a lot, my audio drivers and my overall driver "suit" so to speak have been updated so I can't reproduce the issue and pinpoint what finally solved it, but I'd download Intel Driver & Support Assistant or the AMD equivalent and check so those drivers are up to date as well as check your MOBO Bios version so that's up to date as well.

I loose all sound and noises as soon as I join a platoon, even in the middle of a battle. Very strange. I just don't platoon any more to solve the problem

Well I'm pretty sure I solved it, it seems to be an issue with the wwise sound engine glitching out with certain devices plugged in, namely my USB headset. When I plugged it out all glitching stopped.

There were zero sound issues in other games, or using the headset or speakers in different games but for whatever reason WoT's sound engine doesn't like the USB headset I have.

Deleted the game in its entirety, scrubbed the registry, reinstalled and was fine for 8 battles but then the sound glitching came back.

So I assume you checked what I wrote above, in that case are you using any audio related software like for example Nahimic or similar? You might not even know you got it installed since it comes with many computers/drivers and if you haven't updated it you will have issues.

Okay it seems to be fixed now, there was glitching with both the standard windows 7 driver for my realtek onboard, and there was glitching with the latest driver (ver. 282) but with ver 281 installed there's been no glitching in 3 days. So it was down to soundcard drivers in the end.
