Credit income decrease for top tier artys may work as a kind of limit. Will see how it goes in the weeks to come.
The spaced armor and armor improvements can be considered as income decrease too, but for the rest of the tanks - especially for medium tiers (VII, VI, V...). We shoot more, make less damage = less credits income. Also the matchmaking looks like changed... For 30+ games with V tier TDs and V+VI tier med tanks all the games was vs tier VIII on the top.

I played last night with my Grille arty.
The splash damage is pratically removed in battle against high tiers.
This is very frustrating, cause with the big gun the aiming and reload time is very high (15 sec.). When your shot go close to a tanks, also a small damage "satisfy" the player waiting for the next shell.
I prefer a system with smaller damage on direct shots but with the splash damage remain unaltered.

Finally the arty is still playable and this is not totally nerfed :)

A long wait for very little, I have played the two new maps. GOOD new content something I like. Camo 200/300 gold for permanent camo????? you must be joking. Never had any problems with fps so this enhancement is og no use for me. I dont get it, there is basically nothing new, some nerfs and some buffs (T44 I like) but still. So bascially there is probably a lot of new programming in the game but extremely little done with game experience (at least for me), the biggest change I have noticed is the movement of leave battle button which makes me exit game. Why also the overtarget markers are not implemented as game function is beyond me. I guess that company battles still mostly will be for clans and a closed world for us who do not want or have time for beeing in a clan. With respect to the recording function, works great, but its like have a autmomatic gearbox with paddle gearing on the wheel, nice but used it once...who has time to study battles?

The next patch is french tanks with revolver loading and basically no armour, were is this going? These tanks are jokes, in RL these french tanks could be pentetrated by .50 cal heavy machine guns with multupurpose ammo. <SNIP>

And I quote:

"Similarly, in his book Panzer Leader, Heinz Guderian related an incident, which took place during a tank battle south of Juniville: "While the tank battle was in progress, I attempted, in vain, to destroy a Char B with a captured 47-mm anti-tank gun; all the shells I fired at it simply bounced harmlessly off its thick armor. Our 37-mm and 20-mm guns were equally ineffective against this adversary. As a result, we inevitably suffered sadly heavy casualties".

I guess they should have used the .50 cal, huh?

VK2801 is pretty much useless now :(

His 10,5mm was the only feature who made a difference, because for a scout he too has low camo values, isn't as agile as a T-50-2 and its acceleration isn't that great.
Before 0.7.0 he could kill arty and could break the capping of your own base, but now he needs way to much shots for killing arty and while shooting at higher tier tanks while driving you must be extremely lucky to do any damage (aiming at weakspots isn't that easy for the 10,5mm).

Martin

BTW: the new FX (explosions, etc.) aren't such exciting, because in the heat of the battle I barely notice them.

Is there any change forgotten to mentioned about Panther II....

Top engine feels much less powerful now, previously it has no problem to reach 54 km/h on a straight road, now it can 45 km/h for 54 km/h it has to go downhill....

No, definitely not. There were no other unannounced changes to Panther.

Aye. :) Dont mock the French tanks until you see them in action on the main server.

It wont.

As a gw tiger (elit) player I enjoy playing as arty. You nerf the credit income, I will play more with it, shoot more tanks, shoot more tanks with AP to 1shot them.

There are two things I absolutely hate when playing arty:
- urban maps like himmelsdorf and ensk (where I feel almost useless)
- more then 3 arty per team, that is the limit we need, not credit income nerf! This nerfed only pissed people off.

I would happily wait 30-60 second for a balanced match, with my arty!

I had the worst ding streak with BL-9 ever, shooting 3 times at KT, then 1 time at T-44, then 1 time at Pershing.
Oh, the horror...
In short:
- replay - best feature in this patch (welcome to the real world WG)
- new minimap - second best
- it took me a while to realize the sirens were in game not outside in the city (facepalm!)

Yep, last night  first time I killed T54 with light tank (from 50 prc to zero). Poor T54 didn't know that I can send fast 6 90mm shells :D Pure fun.

That's definitely not a common issue. First off, Id advise you to delete all settings and configuration files and reinstall the client using full setup. Also submit a ticket to customer support.

This patch is great, good job WG!
People might perceive it as "cosmetic", but they forget that underneath all of it, you started implementing multiclaster technology.

Performance:
  • Smoke frame drops are gone! Still, multicore support would be another huge step forward for most players.
Minimap:
  • Flashing markers on the minimap improved team play. Now it's all readable and people tend to react more to what other players communicate.
  • Different markers for "Follow me!" and "Help!" are a room for improvement (Different color? Big flashing letters H and F?). When I hear a ping, I look at the minimap and it would be nice to know right away what's up, just by looking at the marker, without taking another look at the message section.
Replays:
  • Replay function really has a potential to raise skill of whole community. I'm waiting for replays of top players :D
  • Maybe create a database of replays on your community site? Hall of fame of epic battles? Community could judge a style of a player, not only his battle stats.
  • Or maybe give a player an option to post one replay of their favourite battle in their profile? That would give anyone an idea what kind of player he is.
  • At the moment, replay playback is slightly raw and unintuitive. Buttons like play/rewind/fast-forward on the bottom of the screen, between tank modules window and minimap window would be nice.

The graphics are lot better, but the adwanced shadows still not wors for me. It's too ugly with that blocks..
A True arty limit would be well appreciated, and let's see whether the MM had improved also. All meds vs heavies or vs. all TD-s is just not right.

Great update. Very nice effects coming along with a good engine optimization - a pro thing this one!
No complains.
Keep up good work and do not listen to haters and complainers - they are never satisfied. Do your job - it is obvious that you are good at it!

I would have a question related to the recorded gameplays: on the test servers I thought that the recordings are saved on the server and in the Replays folder we only get a shortcut to the video, but I read here and there that the videos are actually saved on our computer, in our Replays folder  What I don't get it that how can be a 10 minutes gameplay be only 800 kb, and if so, how could I edit the videos so that I could post them on my server or on YouTube??? :Smile_harp:

THX,
Zolti

I am not saying the a .50 cal anno wwII would do the job, I am saying that the .50 cal with multipurpose ammo (meaning a small explosive charge in the actual bullet) easily would penetrate sides and rear of these french tank. No sane person would go to war in these tin cans, it does not help with a revolver gun if any any tank can oneshot you an kill the whole crew. The whole construction is useless, and i guess that these tanks never very used by any other nation (unless corruption was involved) speaks for itself. Nations that actually evaluate their purchase, use german, british and US tanks. And of course russian in eastern europe (not that they had much choice). Still russians tanks were decent till hightech overtook them.

Edit: It may be that I am difficult and don't appreciate the work done by WG but honestly, they put a lot of effort into this and basically came up with what i do not need.  I want more and different gameplay not french tanks, recording (I will use but not watch) and increase fps for laptops or whatever

Here's what I think so far...

Minimap improvements: Awesome, I like them all. Though I am confused why the first enemy spotted (or re-spotted after no enemies were visible for a few moments) gets an extra marker. If the minimap is empty I tend to be watching it anyway, whereas if there are 5 enemies already on the map it is easy to miss a sixth appearing. So that feature seems kind of backwards. Still, it isn't a bad thing per se.

Interface improvements: It's annoying that the player list always starts full size everytime I load into battle and requires me to downsize it manually. But, you already announced that this would be fixed in 0.7.1, so waiting for that. The tier indicators on the tank icons are helpful.

Reporting system: Thankfully didn't yet meet a player who deserved its use.

New HE system:
- My KV's 152mm appears unaffected, although I only played 2 battles so far.
- My M5 Stuart is worse off, now completely unable to damage tanks that it was able to scratch for 1%-2% before. I finished my match with 12 shots, 10 hits, and absolutely no damage inflicted at all.
- My SPGs are less erractic than under the old system. Previously I could shoot a tank and inflict 5%, 4%, 20%, 8% in damage. Now I shoot a similar tank and inflict 10%, 11%, 10%, 9%. I don't feel like I'm doing significantly more or significantly less damage than before.
- All in all it seems that large, powerful HE guns are pretty much unaffected, while HE fired by low-tier guns against higher tier tanks is even less effective than it already was. So that's two times a wash, and one time a nerf. Unfortunately, that makes the new HE system worse overall than the old. It doesn't do a thing about the problem areas (way overscaled high tier artillery) but instead makes playing light tanks even more of a chore for me than it already was.

Vehicle skins: I don't care about the whole cost debate (if you don't like the price, don't buy it), but seriously: seeing tanks in desert camo duke it out in Westfield or Abbey is pretty silly...

New effects: Can we please get real multisampling instead of the glorified blur filter we have now? Switching FXAA on, regardless of setting level, makes me feel like I need new glasses.

Battle replays: Recorded some, haven't gotten around to watching it yet. You know what would be awesome though? A built-in converter that turns your recording into a video file for uploading on youtube and stuff...

Camos:
  • The feature is great. It looks fun. Prices in credits are ok, I would even rise them a bit. I think it adds more purpose, if they are hard earned. It makes a favourite tank more special.
  • There are some nice, good-looking camos.
This one is exceptional. We want more like this one:
    Posted Image
It looks great, because it's colour scheme corresponds with german blue-grayish tank skin color.

  • Sadly a couple of camos look like "baby vomit".
  • Big part of camos have this creepy feel, like from some weird, obscure-horror circus, abandoned 50 years ago. Again, that's caused by camo colour scheme not going well with tank skin colour. It's not possible to cover a tank with two layers of camo? First one, covering whole tank with a base colour, and then the second one with actual camo?
  • I wonder if there's a way to block all "hitbox" skins by making one default camo, which would be the same color as default skins, but will cover user skins, making them useless. I'm not against "hitbox" skins, but big part of community perceives them like some kind of cheat.
  • Show us how to make such camos and let us do them. Then make contests to include best user made camos in the game. We will love such camos. Win-Win situation.

Fully zoomed-out garage glitch:
  • It was present before, when will you fix this? It's irritating and looks unfinished.
