Game center is better than old launcher anyway, so what is the problem?

Some consider them bloatware and/or spyware.

People just don't want new launchers showed in their face. Not that WG game center is better or worse, it's just the change is an annoyance.

Simple solution:

Stop trying to install WoT, it's not needed at all. Copy your old WoT folder to a new machine and make a shortcut to the launcher yourself. Just run it, it will update and function as if it's installed.

My installation folder is still the one from Closed-Beta (including all the old patch note .txt's :D) and it's still running like a charm, never reinstalled it, just copied that folder.

Some don't provide any evidence.

It uses a few KB more memory other than that it functions just as the old one..... if you tick a few boxes.  Or it can provide better functionality if you want it to.

The game centre works like a dream, you get a quick flash of the news (how many threads are started by people asking the forum to keep them up to date), and it has all the WG games in one place for those who play WoWs or WoWP as well. So less clutter on the desktop, and everything is updated from one place.

I just start WoT from a shortcut in the windows toolbar. Have never felt the need for a launcher for any game, just seems like an unnecessary click to me, something that gets in the way.

You must have asked the GC to import all your WG titles when you used it for playing Classic.

GC is pretty nice actually. I like it. And I don't think WG is using their launcher to spy on you:teethhappy:

Btw, whenever I downloaded the game from the website, it gave the file to GC and not a direct link to download WoT, so yeah I think it is mandatory.

Better for what ?
Using the existing launcher it takes me 2 mouse clicks from turning on my PC to being in the garage of WoT... The game centre can only be 'better' if it takes just one mouse click

Using the old launcher, unless you have it in startup, you have to launch the launcher, click on play, click on the login button (after selecting server and possibly also putting in your email and password).

Using WGC, you open WGC, click play and that's it.

Using multiple accounts is a lot easier with WGC, it stores the login info so all you do is switch accounts

As Homer_J said, it is much easier for multiple account management, so that is why I am using it and like it more that old launcher. Not to mention you log in once and then you can switch games without log in again.

It takes two clicks - okay I use a mod that automatically logs me in so I click to open the launcher and click to play... two clicks

Multiple accounts ?
I would suggest that over 90% of the playerbase are like me and don't have multiple accounts

Switching games ?
Again I would suggest that the majority of the playerbase do not play Wargaming's other offerings

The Game Centre is a useful thing for the people who make use of it's functionality, but for those of us who just want to play WoT with the minimum of fuss it is totally unnecessary

You forgot to add that it also becomes easier to play on different region servers as well.

And imo, WG should just get rid of the old launcher entirely.
