I have never been a particular fan of this map as I prefer urban labyrinths of Himmelsdorf and Ruinberg for some fun invasive and evasive maneuvering, but I have always understood that it is a good map and many people like it quite deservedly. But in the recent months I have been craving for the map exclusion feature to be introduced at last so that I could never see Prohorovka again. Why? Because of the proliferation of the single-cell organisms in this game that this particular map seems to emphasise to the point of nausea. The hill is insufficiently controlled, the centre is often ignored completely and 80% of the "team" just sits in the remote corner of the field, waiting for it all to end, no matter how. So few players nowadays are capable of utilising the potential of this map and that is not a good sign for the future of WOT.

Well this happens when you shape your game for stupid people, you get stupid people playing.

They may be good cash cows customers, but as you said on any open map you will see them camping in a corner or in the base.... But don't worry, as we can see WG is no longer making open maps - we get only corridor maps or maps with predefined positions for each class.

In general it can be stated that if the WoT community in general is any indication of the future of mankind it is safe to say we are doomed .... DOOMED ... :arta:

Sadly it is very probably that the general population be like the WOT players. After all we have some millions registered users and currently something around 700-800k active players on EU, so a quite representative number of people.

I have played a little AW these days and let me tell you that there people are even stupider. I mean really - how underdeveloped you must be to have over 10k battles in PvE and still not memorize the same 20 maps where NPC's have the exactly same spawns??  When they introduce a new PvE mission i can easy memorize what is happening after i play it 2 times.

There is a reason map design are ignored, and every chance WG makes, are made to make all players play russian mediums.
The reason is money. WG are aware that they messed up, and the game went south because of it. Now its all about milking as much money as they can before the end up with a minimal playerbase.

It is not. Stunning people isn't half as useful on prokh as is shooting them for 1000 damage. Previously on prokh arty could carry, now you can only assist.

This is a good thing by the way :)

The problem with this map is the overblown importance players give to the hill and people not knowing how to properly scout. Let me explain.

The Hill.

It's next to useless really. the bases are on the field side of the track, not the hill side. The bases can be defended from hidden positions on the 2 line. You cannot attack the base from the Hill side of the track without exposing yourself coming over the track.

Scouting.

Too many scouts think this map is all about going to the hill or rushing about in the middle. Generally they die due to lucky arty or TD hits. A decent scout will push up the 2 line using the bushes for cover. Once a team has control of the 2 line the game is pretty much decided.

Sitting in the corner?  Dont you play mostly arty? And your last 30 day average spot is 0,25..........:bush:Isn't this a case ofThe pot calling the kettle black?

Are these stats for the Prokhorovka map only? Nope. Good luck spotting on Prokhorovka with arty or paper armor TD. If you could choose which tanks to play on which maps.

The map almost didn't change since version 7.0.

I know cus I played wot classic. Sure there are some minor differences and hill is a bit flatter, but that's it...

Surely not enough to make it feel like "a mighty map has fallen", it's just your sentiment for old wot, you surely remember it better than it actually was.

I don't quite understand what you are complaining about here. Surely if this is a generalized approach then it happens for both teams, so more freedom to the skilled player to take over the ignored positions and control them.

Or is it more a case of "my team is always noobs and so I lose all the time" kind of thing?

Never said anything about map changes, only player base changes.

Nope, 2 line is just one big stalemate. How to win on Prohorovka:

1. Spot the hill

2. Shoot the hill from the middle

3. Flank ewoks on the 2 line

Easy peasy!

I have nothing against freedom for skilled players, but on this map it inevitably degenerates into slaughter of the dumber enemy team huddled in the field corner. It gets boring so quickly.

Liar. I never sit idly in the field corner. You are just blaming me for not playing the same pushy tanks as you choose to play :)
