Just an average player here to vent.

What is going on I am trying to play better and well this graph says how I feel more than words:-

You may say oh its the Event, but everyone is playing the Event, this is not really an excuse. Unless the MM is ruining people over on purpose. My Winrate was rising when I played 2 years ago now I have dropped 0.23 even though I feel like I am playing better.

Me personally I hate this feeling, I am not enjoying this game as much as a week ago. Yeah I chase stats and seeing this go down really frustrates me.

Bah

Edit recent WN8 is green 1269 so average. I want to see some winning streaks but I am getting none.

You are playing a LOT recently so this is bound to happen.

Slow down a bit and choose a good time to play during the day. Stop playing after 3 losses in a row, take a break and come back after 2-3 hours. Avoid playing during the weekends.

Make the best out of a bad battle/defeat, try to do the most damage possible. Defeats will happen, it's your choice to keep going through that.

Good luck!

Provided this is a decent sample size, I think we can safely conclude that you are failing. There is plenty of statistical evidence to suggest that when these things happen, you are the problem.

You're welcome. May I also recommend 'git gud' in a way that doesn't bring your winrate down like a lead zeppelin?

Higher WN8 doesn't always mean more WR. It could also just mean you are doing more damage, but at the wrong places and targets to shift the battle.

But as we had said on this forum for years. You want to pad WR, you platoon. You want to pad WN8, you play solo.

The difference between a 56% win rate & a 50% win rate is only winning an extra 6 battles out of every 100.  The difference between a 49.72% win rate & a 49.48% win rate is losing roughly an extra 1/2 a game out of every 100.

WN8 has nothing to do with win rate as it's predominately based on damage done, so you can hide at the back farming damage which will drastically improve your wn8 but is likely to reduce your win rate as you'll be having a less positive impact in key areas of the battle.

Winning in WoT is all about winning key engagements & gaining map control.  So you need to be having a positive influence on these in enough of your games to improve your win rate.  It could also be that you're becoming too fixated on stats, which can lead to you being triggered when things aren't going well.  This can lead to rash play which in turn makes things even worse.  If you feel this is the case, the best thing to do is take a break or switch tanks & play ones you enjoy for a while even if that means dropping tiers for a bit.

If I had to guess I'd say your idea of constitutes playing better is flawed.

Since coming back after a year I’ve been playing a lot recently. My wr has dropped by 0.15. A bit depressing but I know why and it’s easily rectified. I’ve been grinding a line. Playing tiers that I find challenging in new tanks is always going to hit wr.

If I want to get my wr back to what it was I’ll just play my su85b or Luchs or anything at tier 5 and club those dirty seals! Doesn’t feel right anymore though :)

The easy answer is that you are playing above your skill level.  The not so easy one is that you are doing something wrong. My guess (without having seen your replays) is that you do most of your damage after the battle is already decided. While your damage levels are in the "green" your WR is in black/red levels. This mean the damage you do is irrelevant for the outcome of the game.

If you want a better explanation you need to provide replays.

As you go up the tiers, stats tend to turn south. You'll find that some lines hold better than others (because they suit you and your game style) but all generally decline as opposition gets tougher.

My stats tanked a long time ago and rather than flat line, I have continued to climb the tech trees and so my stats have continued to decline (some say freefall - which is a bit savage).

Generally, the better the player, the more he can afford to play the higher levels. This in turn means the higher you go, the tougher the opposition, on average.

Also wr is often decided by the MM gods. You can go on absolutely appalling runs with tomato teams. No matter how good you are you stand no chance. These are the games I just try and do my damage then move on.

Focusing on WR is probably the most frustrating thing you can focus on in WOT. I do get it though. I find myself doing it often. Like I said before though, and as others have, just move down a tier or two until your WR is back to a level where you can sleep easy :)

Your problem is the sites you visit to see how well you fare, noobmeter and the like.

I removed XVM from my computer a long time ago and deleted all shortcuts to stats sites, do the same you'll be better off.

I just finished a referral program with my wife, she's 51, can't move her tank in reverse, not much better forward, panics when cornered, has played 430 games and averages 135 damage per battle at tier VI for 434 damage received.

We play as a family, son, mother and I.

Do we lose? Do we win?

We win every game, since my wife is laughing all the time and has a great time playing with us.

If you feel you play like a donkey, do as I do, go to the Hall of Fame, check your ratings by achievement and you'll probably see you are better than 70% of all players.

What else could you ask for?

You'll - probably - never be any famous WoT streamer anyway, so just laugh at those anonymous stats hoarders boasting ingame or on the forums in desperate need of attention and play the freaking game.

Just do it.

Did you even bother to look at those graphs? And I mean the whole graph, not just the fancy lines. Then you would have noticed that both the rise in WN8 as well as the drop in WR show really small changes. It just looks that bad because the Y axis is drawn out that much.

That's 8th grade math...

As an average player with tankstats all over the place, a bit up and down is bound to happen.

OP what you've posted is a snapshot and not statistically significant. However if you look at your entire stats your win rate has declined from 49.9% to 49.47% over the last 1770 battles whilst your damage has continued to increase. I think you are playing at higher tiers and finding it harder. If you are worried about win rate you should have started worrying about it back in 2017 when it started to decline.

I'd like to see some AMX M4 45 replays of yours.

I feel you either camp too far back, not affecting the battle's outcome, or you play over-aggressively and die early.

Not quite true. Even when everything is loaded against you with the worst teams making the dumbest decisions if you personally play well then you will mitigate some of those losses so overall you will still end up with a higher WR regardless of the MM.

The holy triangle of WoT.

1) Learn the mechanics.

2) Learn the maps.

3) Do what you are supposed to do.

All that WN8 could be due to stat padding, late game damage. So do the right damage and you will win more.
