I have nothing against artillery, a direct hit takes away a lot of HP, brings great damage, and that's ok.
But spalsh effect is too powerful, though it kills the crew, and damages the module, also take away a lot of HP, which is very exaggerated.
In my case, (Erlenberg) I took a position with Obj 704 to the building, to the right of a friendly base, when you cross the bridge.
Artillery shells hit the roof and took me almost 50% HP, which is quite stupid and unrealistic, or at the El Halluf map, I stand with the t25 / 2 glued to the rock that is located down near the flags (encounter mode), artillery strikes again, shells falling on the other side of the rocks, a few meters, and devastated my tank completely.
If this effect is not reduced, artillery again becomes OP in this game, especially in combat higher tiers, which are very slow, with lots of slow and bulky tanks.

Imho the only thing they should do is reducing the crew damage because of splash (not even direct hits). Everything else is acceptable.

Just bought a Arty and my god it mind numbingly easy to play and get 2-4 kills a game.

Your account. Anyways, it's rather easy to farm kills with the majority of tanks, the game requires no special abilities to play any of the vehicles decently.
@sword_of_Damocles: What's there to see? With the HE buff you're actually lucky to be only double tracked and have your gunner killed. The damage was not caused by GWTiger only, there's no way that a splash from 5 meters away will do anywhere close to 900 damage. Hell, even if you manage to shoot right under the lower front plate of the E-50 it probably won't do that kind of damage.

Of course splash from 5m won't deal 900 damage. More like 400-500 (if arty gets lucky). Too bad no matter the distance, half of the crew may die anyway.

Am i consider lucky that one single shot landed near me and did this kind of damage???Indeed if it was direct hit i would be dead....Have one more pic about this subject

Can't begin to describe how frustrating it is to constantly have all crew killed by single arty hits. Something has to be done NOW. The spotting system combined with arty sattelite view and super accurate guns is way way way too powerful. In real life arty was shooting at 15+km and used to barrage fixed positions. The way arty works in this game is wrong on so many levels.

Some games are unplayable for me in my KV-1, its slow and can't run away to hide in time when i come under fire, i guess that's the way it is in real life for tank crews, but... I feel that arty is detrimental to the fun of this game. I'm sure that a lot of people like to sit in base and fire across the map at players who can't fire back and find that to be great fun, just as there are people who get enjoyment out of using cheats in computer games, because its fun for them when the player they are attacking can't fight back. It may be fun, but It's not OK if it kills the fun of other players.
I wan't to play world of tanks not world of artillery, if you wan't to use arty go play some other game and lob shells across the map at each-other.
When ever i complain about arty in game I just get told by some... nice person, that i need to learn tactics, and not stay still, OK, so now i can't stop to shoot my gun? and now I have to camp behind cliffs and houses? and tough luck if there's nothing close when i come under fire? And the first round that lands next to me takes out my track or kills my driver or takes out my engine and that's if it dose not kill me in one.
Not all games are like this for me, because arty is either not in the game (rare) or the arty just isn't that strong, and then i can have a good game, even if i lose.
I say nerf arty or limit them right down, no more than 2 each side.

Arty's bugged. There's no other way i can explain 4/5 dead crew... Obj 261 shot.

Front hole is the one by arty.The recent changes simply force you to buy large medpacks (healing ALL crew members) for 50 gold.
Them buggers at WG got even more greedy.

That would be hilarious! We need some kind of code word, which we write at the beginning of the match. If someone from the other team replies, they both kill their arties and write 'arty-free game sponsored by <code word> initiative. Then we build a website where people can upload their replays and we give out monthly gold to the ones responsible for the most arty-free games.
Haha, there's some less confrontational ideas:
Arty is supposed to prevent camping, right? It currently feels like this: Oh, look, you are camping. Fuck you, here comes the hammer of Thor ripping apart your tank. You are dead now, please don't camp next time.
That's pretty silly. Arty was not that acurate in WW2, was it? It should be more like an area of effect attack, that showers an area with explosions, slowly causing damage to the camping tank, encouraging it to actually move instead of blowing it to pieces. Instead of a laser guided missle of you-made-a-mistake-but-its-already-to-late you get a ravaging firestorm you want to get the fuck out of. To get this working ingame you could:
-Turn arty into a kind of commander's vehicle ordering barrages from off-map.
-Increase ROF by a factor of 10, decrease damage by 10x. (Heck, even 2x would be a reasonable improvement)
-Increase angle of fire, so you can actually hit campers behind cover. (Silly, right? Supposed to prevent camping, when it can't even hit them)
Another issue I have with arty is their range. Wouldn't it make arty play more interesting to have only half or 1/3 of the map in range? Arty would actually have to reposition and get to a better position. Something most arties can't be bothered to now. And it would make it less frustating to get hit by arty, because you know it has to be around somewhere close and a quick rush by light/med would be able to reach them. Heavys would also know when they have artillery support and when not simply by looking which tanks are with them.
It's also ridiculous how strong arties are in close range combat. Arties shot your team to pieces, but you finally took the fight to them? Fuck you, you are still getting shot to pieces. I always feel sorry for meds trying to take out arty nests.
They also shouldn't be getting a satellite live feed of the battlefield. Arty savagely mutilating moving meds, yeah, I'm sure that's how it went in WW2. The arties view of the battlefield should be delayed by 2 seconds or so. The best defence against arty would be to stay on the move, not camping behind cover. The delay could be adjusted based on distance, encouraging arty to move closer.

Until the game is changed, learn how to counter, learn how to hide and learn how to spot and work together as a team.
If arty gets nerfed or chopped or changed, you will all find something else to wine, winge or bleet about.
Its a game-play it and live with it or get your chess board out.
