I got mine last night and played about 20 battles(give or take) and so far I can tell it's a worse version of T28. T28 has much smaller weak spots and while it is true that when you load gold you can easily pen T28, that is also true for TS-5.

Lower plate is HUGE and kind of hard to hide with -5 of gun depression.

Accuracy is horrible so sniping is 100% out of the equation. You get close, you get smoked by arties  and gold spammers, stay back and never hit anything.

The only thing that makes a slow, turretless TD useful is alpha because you only get a few opportunities to deal damage, specially when you have armor, since very few people are stupid enough to sit in front you to get raped. 400 alpha doesn't cut it for me. What do you guys think? Specially those who have played both T28 and TS-5.

I got it last night and only had time to play it few times. I'm loving it. I even put bond equipment on it and with cola I can get the reload time down to 6,3 seconds which is completely crazy. The armor seems to work pretty well for me. The lowerplate is pretty weak against tier 9-10 tanks but thats how it should be. If it had 270mm+ lowerplate it would be OP as hell.

The gun is great. The accuracy is pretty bad, but the soft stats and amazing aim time make up for it IMO.

How much is your average damage? Mine is about 1700 or 1800 I'm not sure.

I have played T28 and I like it. Its gun is semi accurate, 400 alpha is ok-ish and roughly 7 seconds reload isn't that bad. Lower plate is still around 230-240mm effective I think, which isn't that bad. I haven't played TS-5 yet but by its statistics I can tell the following. Unfortunately TS-5 gun is sub par in comparison with its abysmal accuracy so forget about aiming for weakspots if you need to. Its lower plate is also weaker than T-28 I think. All in all TS-5 looks like a weaker T28. I still am sorta excited to play it. Anyway, here is a tip for every T28, TS-5 or any similar tank player (T95 etc...) when you reload, don't stay still, instead wiggle your tank by going backwards and doing left and right so they have harder time shooting at your weakspots (if you stay still they will shoot your commander hatches), plus you might get lucky gold shell bounce like this too.

With giant lower plate that is only 200 mm effective (IIRC), it's hard to not get hit. I'm also a bit biased because most of my games are in fast, paper tanks, I have no problem making them work. I have always struggled with armored slow tanks. I definitely prefer paper fast tanks.

Well yes thats the problem with TS-5, weak lfp. T-28 has decent lfp on the other hand. If you can somehow hide lfp then your armor should be better than T-28s. After I get TS-5 il share my thoughts about it here.

I have played only T28 but very thoroughly :-D and watched quite a bit of TS-5 on Skill strim. I would definitely rate TS-5 a better vehicle (especialy in current MM). Difference in DPM is massive, better gun handling balance out lower accuracy, fast heat is more helpfull than T28 apcr imo, better frontal armour overal (lower plate is only a bit worse than T28 with proper angling, upper is a lot stronger and cupola is much better), better mobility.

For my playstyle TS-5 is better in every single way over T28 except I dont like how it looks :-)

Rage sold my T28, not even bother in with this thing,t make it interesting they needed to give it a lower profile and make it like the T 95 where you can sit and bounce crap with impunity, most of the time.

yeah Im doing around 2,2k -2,3k in T28 in last 1000 battles and I would be surprised if I would not be able to do at least 2,5k in TS-5 But dont really need another prem tank and dont have that much time to grind it.

I'm so close to T95, soon gonna buy it. What about E3? Does it feel like an upgrade from T95?

yes and no. T95 imo is a bit stronger tier for tier. But with E3 if you manage to get in hulldown arty safe position and dont fight against HE tanks and enemy is stupid enough to push in you slowly, than you can have amazing game.

Soon it will be better for both T95 and E3 when Type 4 and 5 HE gets nerfed.

T95 has a major hitbox problem since the new version. Used to be a great tank, but now and until they solve it, its not worth to play.

The E3 is a different tank. The T95 is a tank in which you may push. The E3 is strictly defensive, but in a solid defensive position, it can really lock down approaches. Contrary to popular belief, the type 5 doesn't do well versus the E3. The front armour stops HE shells quite effectively. You can trade 1500 dmg for 300-ish. However, the E3 is quite vulnerable to flanking. It turns even slower than the T95 and it has quite vulnerable internal modules. Tier for tier, I'd say it is worse than the T95, but it has its own niche in T10. Still gets picked for CW on some maps. Worth to get, imho.

Okay I now have played a few more games with it and so far is seems completely overpowered. It has good armor and with that DPM I'm able to deal with multiple tanks at the same time, as long as I can keep them in front of my tank.
I had couple of 4-5K games and once I was able to do almost 6K.

Mine works perfectly fine, yours must be broken.
