I find that highly suspect.

We know him as Genghis Khan. (Temujin was his birth name)

I'm pretty sure he wasn't exactly a military leader of sorts; these honors go to his generals you see in this video.

you... don't really know who Genghis Khan was, do you?

Genghis Khan is the guy, that life shat on, the guy that society toled he was worth nothing and from that start built one of the largest empires in history... so yeah his generals did that for him :teethhappy:

as for the List in general, there are worthy names on this list no doubt but it's also a bit pointless, because it all comes down to what Wikipedia thinks is a battle, which ones it knows about and how you define victory.

Which is why there are basically only generals from popular eras and nations in there.

Take Takeda Shingen, his exploits and life are famous in Japan so every single battle he has fought is accounted for, giving him a top spot on the list.

Or David Petraeus? his battles are basically americans bombing and rolling over tribal warriors in afgahnistan.

beeing recent and thus prominent on wikipedia puts him on the list.

On the other end I see several great generals I know of missing alltogether.

simply because their exploits are less well documented, or because victory and defeat are less clear.

Take the twelve battles for the Isonzo, while you can technically argue that italy won some of them, in the end austria hungary

won all of them, due to the overall goals each side was trying to achieve.

That would definetly put Svetozar Boroevice on the list.

Not sure why you assume that. I know more of history than the average person in a country does these days.
