Why is there no I on the minimap?

Greetings,

I have one dumb question but i am curious, why is there no letter I on the minimap grid, there are H and after it is J, I is skipped, why?

Since it can be confused with number 1.

Yeah true but if I'm not mistaken that have more to do with how similar the Russian Cyrillic sign for I and J is than our I and J:

it's very common, for above reasons.

 

there are other similar things to take care of when designing passwords or codes for example

to make sure people definately not misread them

 

0 versus O (Zero and big "o") - always use a zero

small letter "L" and big "I" - never use those at all

big "i" and "j" - just use "J" - because can be misread as one of the above
