I watched a few reviews of the tank.

I did the marathon to get it and I was going to sell it.

I thought I would try it out first before I sold it but I don't think it's that bad, better than the T28 HTC, think I'll keep it.

why on earth would you sell a tier 8 prem..  even if it's not your play style..

this tank is really mediocre, or at least I don't like it at all.

The APs are very slow due to long distance shots and then it is too inaccurate, just as the gun depression is not enough in many situations and the armor is something quite relative and even frontally it is too easy to penetrate.
The dpm and the penetration are good.
I was impressed by the mobility, I expected a slow tank and instead it is quite fast and maneuverable.

I don't think it will play a lot, it's a pretty boring vehicle that should definitely be improved, the worst marathon ever.

The TS-5 looks really good at putting large 400hp holes in the front of T8 heavies. I once again naively tried to grind my ISM ( now the mm is fixed ) only to receive unaimed AP snapshots at the front of my tank by a TS-5, no problem penning me at all. If they don't have to aim at weakspots, the accuracy close up doesn't really matter :)

Anyone who play M48 or Leo knows that in this game there is no "accuracy".

Depends what sort of playstyle you're into I suppose. I see plenty of super heavies and the heavily armor TD's still being played so for them I have no doubt this is another gem to their collection. It wouldn't be for me and my faster more flexible tank preferences but that doesn't mean it's terrible or not worth buying. Frontally it's very tough even the lower plate is around 200+mm effective with a lot of slope on it while the front half of the sides(if that makes sense) is also very thick armored and has a bouncy bottle on it's side sort of a shape all around that whole frontal and front sides area which means that even tracked at 30-40 degrees it's armor is still pretty formidable and bouncy.

The front wheels stick out a bit far which can get you in trouble but they're also not in line with the hull so you won't actually take any hp loss when some player is shooting you through the sides of those front wheels like most other tanks would and at least that allows a little moment to plan how you might get out of that situation should the option for that same attacker to at your more vulnerable rear wheel and rear quarters of your tank not be an option for him, i.e. the luxury of being able to time his next tracking shot, since it's not doing any hp damage to your activation of a repair kit, at the g in bang, you repair and maybe you can get your gun on him or pull back behind cover.

Also, if you're into those big lumbering slow armored tanks, you will most likely know how to play them properly unlike me and most other players that don't play them so you'll know all the little tricks and areas of the map these things should go to and when to go and when to stay etc plus finally with this tank you get to play one of those style of tanks as a premium option so you can finally make some credits with a playstyle you like. So I can't it's a terrible tanks because that would be unfair and perhaps untrue. I can just say it's a terrible tank for me and my playstye, there's a difference.

He can pen the cupola with Apcr.... ..

Or with regular ammo if he's shooting from an elevated position.

7 shots with rng in favour, ..

With so many tomatoes driving them, anything is possible.

From what I've experienced with the tank so far (both on Frontline and in random battles) it is a fafantast tank, all it takes is investing some time to learn how to play it.

You all use APCR as an argument, but show me one tank that you can't instantly damage more reliably with APCR. The tank is great, you get amazing DPM, with the new MM you rarely meet tier 10, and against tier 7, 8, 9 it is a fantastic tank to play.

At least I've loved it, you may not take my opinion as worthy considering I'm a noob, but I honestly don't think that it's bad at all.

I would have liked it aswell probably.

I just don't want to spend money on the game right now.

So at least for me and probably some other people. It's not a case of the thing being good or bad.

(yes I could have ground my butt off to get it but I already have the doom turtle so... Why bother)

So I now have played a few games in the TS-5 and here are my observations.

The TS-5:

  • Cannot snipe due to crap dispersion values

Coming back to this point, where you most likely mean accuracy instead of dispersion values: If it wasn't abundantly clear before even on smaller maps, Frontline truly does expose beyond any doubt that accuracy means absolutely nothing in WoT. Playing the Strv S1 quite a lot in Frontline, and I am getting 'outsnipped' by bad accuracy vehicles like the IS-6, IS-3, Defender, and that TS-5 at over 400 meters quite regularly. It's quite hilarious observing several fully aimed shots go completely wide on one of those, and then get pixel sniped in whatever tiny bit of hull is still exposed.

The accuracy value in WoT does not matter at all. Period.

Bought it yesterday with 70% off the price and using 30% coupon discount. Only had 3 short evenings to grind so couldn't do more.

The tank itself is balanced which is good. You get the fun 3k dmg games while top tier or with even teams on a suitable map. On bad maps, while in a worse or clearly superior team, the game might end with only 1-3 hits scored depending if you get to the action in time. I think I averaged a bit over 2k dmg yesterday on the small number of battles I fought with this tank. Each medium or light tank player that knows what they are doing can easily kill you 1 vs 1 as it should be. Lone heavies or paper td's are good targets for this. When facing another TS-5 at medium to long ranges HEAT tends to start flying around, no surprise there.

Good to have another credit grinder in addition to Skorpion G while having a clearly different playstyle. All in all, definitely worth 13€ but not OP which seems to be a dealbreaker for some.
