It's a free Tier VIII Premium tank - what's to complain about ? You gave 10 bucks for nothing. 5 days in and I'm almost done with all the stages. Nothing to complain here ! Free tanks are free. Sell them if you don't like them. You think I moan about my Super Pershing, which was also a marathon ? Or my WZ-111 ? Or the T25 Pilot ? Or perhaps the T-44-100 ? Or maybe the EBR 75 FL 10 ? Or mah Spaghetto M35 mod. 46 ?

Nah, they are all fine. I can't really complain that I have the ability to make credits with what is basically a free Tier VIII Premium tank. I'm midway Stage X at the moment. Another 30 battles and this TD is mine. EZ !

Is it like the female one where the BIA is "free" aka 0 skill or does it count as 1 skill?

 yes its a zero skill crew (with bia)

It's a static-gun TD in 2019 WoT, of course it is trash.

Any TD without a turret (some exceptions like the E-25 and Chinese T8 abomination) is trash as you can easily get tracked and circled. You also need to expose a lot of your vehicle for long durations around corners etc.

I saw that no one answered it yet. It comes with a 0-skill crew. I will change the commander for another and train a fresh crew

Considering you seem to have played it a lot yesterday and you have shiny positive stats in it I take it it;s not as bad as you first thought?

Really? 60k credits per game for on average 702 damage per game? Either its the game's best credit maker by far or you're exaggerating quite a bit.

Sorry I apologise it was 38 games the 8 looked like a 3 and it's actually 1,881,418 in credits but I rounded it off to 2 million

with just a few shots I am a defo magnet for a target

Probably right but, it's FREE trash.

It costs sweet FA if you put a little effort into it. That's a crew, a garage slot and a shiny new piece of 'trash' that if you hate it so much, you can sell it for silver and buy something you DO want.

So I now have played a few games in the TS-5 and here are my observations.

The TS-5:

  • Cannot snipe due to crap dispersion values
  • Cannot facehug due to large tumour on top of hull.
  • Cannot fight midrange due to trash LFP. Tier 7's will have no trouble getting through your LFP.
  • No fear-factor for attacking opponents due to measly 400 alpha.
  • The only redeeming quality is the DPM, which is quickly nullified by the above four points

I had the misfortune of grinding 80% of the marathon and then buying the thing for 10 quid. This is honestly one of the worst premiums in the game. My advice is - wait for Defender to go on sale again, and buy that, instead of doing the marathon, which is only good for premium time and directives.

Defender, in comparison has:

  • Even worse dispersion values, but neither the TS-5 or the defender are snipers;
  • The ability to facehug due to INSANE front armour and ABSOLUTELY no weakspots;
  • The ability to fight midrange, due to extreme LFP, which no tier 7 can go through and most tier 8's will have trouble dealing with;
  • Fear-factor due to having one of the best alphas (440) of heavies in its tier.
  • Crap DPM. But when you actually have a turret it is way easier to exploit a high DPM rather than when you are a slow-moving sack of crap.
  • A higher top speed of 35km/h (compared to 26km/h of TS-5) and a higher specific power.

TL;DR This game is broken beyond repair and I weep for its future. People who buy defenders are contributing to its slow demise.

EDIT: I might have been a bit unfair on the TD in saying that it was trash. As a standalone vehicle it is a brilliant moneymaker due to the DPM stats and can face off against others in competent hands, especially if you hide that abysmal LFP. What I meant was that, relatively to its tier compatriots it is quite mediocre. While I have been consistently getting 3k dmg games, the TS-5 was used purely as a support vehicle and would have a hard time 1v1-ing other vehicles. I guess it is important to make this distinction.

It's a premium tank, use food and go with heavies most of the time and at least for my two battles it felt awesome. Sure it's small sample but at least it can be super good in some situations.

With that all being said I still think it's a fair well balanced premium, and I am doing pretty well in it I must say it's the only tank I have played in the last 24 hours, I have put arty and strv and lowe to sleep and gonna grind my 3rd crew up

I bought both The Witcher 3 and the GOTY edition, well worth it. Once I have the new system up and running (still need to decide on a mainboard), I will go for another playthrough for The Witcher 3. Last one was with FCR, this one will be with either Ghost Mode or Enhanced Edition.

I bought it back then when it was fresh,

and I did not regret that purchase for 60€ - not at all

Don't recall if I payed the full amount for the original, but definitely bought the GOTY version on a discount. Also bought The Witcher 1 and 2 for Steam and GOG (so bought them twice, same for Fallout 1 & 2). Still money well spent.

I recon its similar to the T28 which was fine, some traits better some worse.

All anyone needs do is just play the game you are not actually doing a missions as its mostly just going on base xp, damage and coming in the top ten.

Those are things that just happen when you play.

If you have the right French heavies you can play them and get 2 sets of bonuses those for the top of the tree and also the TS-5

With a bit of luck some personal missions too.

Its fine if you were going to play anyway I really don't get it when someone says an event is bad or the final reward is bad just play for the interim rewards

Working on 4 or 5 mission events at the same time is just fine with me.

However if you only come to play because of this tank then yes then its worth knowing how good/bad it is.

not to mention it being one of the few game producers that have proper dlc and not main game split into parts labelled as "dlc" , deffo worth the money, high hopes for cyberpunk aswell and likely insta pre order/buy for full price

i got the tank earlier by finishing the commitment challenges and i like it and i think its far from trash

in a top tier match you can take point and lead the assault while melting resistance and even when lowtier you just press 2 and still end up making credtis

TS-5 is a tradeoff. You sacrifice accuracy, forcing you to brawl at close distance, and get huge DPM.

But we will see. I am at the last stage of marathon so soon gonna get it for free, so I am waiting with my judgement. I mainly want it to train crew for my american tds.
