Hi all

I have about 3k gold left over from the TS-5 purchase and I am looking to spend it on another premium tank with this weekend discounts, and T6 is probably the max I can afford. I am looking at the swedish T6 Strv, what is the general oppinion on it? I like the autoloader idea and I quite enjoy the Skoda t25 at T6 - is it in any way comparable? The main advantages would be tge autoloader and training crews for the new swedish mediums that look quite interesting.

Other premiums I might consider at T6 are the Dicker Max (not too exciting, already have the german Td line covered as far as I want to take it ) or the Su100Y (russian Td lines I might look at in future) or the Type 64 (not that keen, already have chinese lights to T7)

Any oppinions welcome

P.S. I already have the t-34-85M

I found it too slow and got rid of it a while back, its a real snail and its an autoloader so its quite vulnerable

I seem to remember the gun was ok though

Favourite Tier 6 Prem  is the Cromwell Berlin

On the Tech tree you can get the Japanese Tiger which has a decent gun and about 100 shells

The skoda t40 is a fun runabout, very mobile with an okay gun, but like a cdc very vulnerable and the size of a bungalow

It looks like a good option and it was something I was also considering, but choose to abstain. Crew trainer for a Swedish Medium back then looked like a lost cause, coz they ended up at Tier VII. From what I've heard, the tank is good in terms of it's gun, but quite lacking in pretty much every other depratment. I'd strongly advise not go for any mid-tier Premium TD, as only the SU-122-44 seems to be worthy. Dicker Max is actually pretty bad and the SU-100Y is a lot worst than "The Vaccum Cleaner". From the available T6 Premiums, I'd prolly go for the T-34-85M at the moment, as this is pretty much the only thing that is worthwhile. I'm not sure why you'd need a Swedish crew trainer, since you'll prolly keep just one tank from that type out of that tech tree and they'll get the XP they need anyways eventually. Female crews are also an option with the new Campaigns.

So cute and so capable at the same time, can't go wrong with that but it's of course up to you if you like lights or not!

strv; good gun and decent handling but slowish platform for a MT, gun depression lacking aswell. if liking skoda for the mobility+autoloader then it isnt something for you i suspect

dmax; real boring gameplay, has the gameplay of nashorn/st emil(redline bush etc), wouldnt recommand it myself but its a decent tank nevertheless

su100y; less campy tank, can go somewhat more frontline, load 2 key for higher alpha and one shot bunch tier 5. can be pretty fun(as you could expect, not so great camo)

type64; amazing LT, powerful one with nice gun. cant really be compared china LT. more a faster pre nerf hellcat with stock gun

non mentioned;

pudel; just a vk3002m but polish, fairly decent

ac4; REEEEEEEEEEEEEE 17pdr REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE(no experience with it)

weeb tiger; decent gun/platform just kinda sluggish, if liking vk3601h/tiger1 it might be worth

skoda t40; decent MT with alpha but just horribly fat, perfect for grinding the amazing defender killer TVP VTU :trollface:(no experience with it)

The Strv can do well due to it's great burst damage potential.

But on the other hand it's a very slow tank with paper armor and bad gun depression.

Tier 6 is full of go-karts with popguns so anything slow will be quite taxing to play

Swedish tier 6 med is not an agile med. Nor fast. It's right between slow and fast tbh. But it will have 100% the same crew layout as the upcoming tier 8+ Swedish meds. It has a clip gun. So nice burst damage with a fairly fast reload. And the shells are cheap, so not expensive to run. But DPM is not that good tho. But if you have cover you can bully rather well in it.  And with optics and crew skills, getting the view range to past 420 is not an issue. So on most maps it's a rather good passive scout if need be.

Downsides are the speed, the DPM and the turret. Why? Well, it has an oscillating turret. So the gun elevation is rather poor.

As for other tier 6 prems? Type 64 if you like lights. It's cheap to run unless you spam gold. So profits are nice. It has the old scout MM balance. So DPM and viewrange advantage. Not a bad tank tbh. But needs a good crew. So fresh crew training can punish it. If you liked the VK 30.02 the Pudel is more or less the same. And as versatile. If you like support meds more so then aggressive meds. The 171 pen AC 4 might work better. It's slower vs the Swedish. But has DPM and a good gun at least. On open maps that thing can farm damage even in +2 games. And if you like the Nashorn. The D-Max is not a bad pick. Why? It's a pre-nerf TD camo and view range premium. So 445m with optics on that is not tricky, even with a bad crew.

Looking over the tech tree offerings I would probably take a t34-85M

I'd recommend T-34-85M, iirc it's 2625 gold with the discount, can be bought in the Soviet techtree.

Not an autoloader but a simple, effective and forgiving package. If you're a decent or better player though, Type 64 might also be worth it (Chinese LT).

VK 30.02 (M)  is pretty boss, so I guess Pudel would feel nice.

Premiums I own and play;

Strv - bought at start, trained a nice crew on it. Decent tier VI tank. Re-using it now with the Christmas gift girls so I have a four perk crew ready for the new Swedish medium line. I still like it.

Skoda - bought at start trained a nice crew on it. Not really played it much since as the lack of gun depression and huge size and paper armour are off putting.

T34-85M - you have this one and it is way better than the Skoda.

Dicker Max - I use it occasionally for certain personal missions, otherwise hardly ever play it as so slow.

Type 64 - I love this thing.

Pudel - used it to train up a crew. I rank it better than the skoda, but not as much fun as the Strv, but still nice.

Not owned or played by me;

SU-100Y - never really played it so cannot comment.

Given that there is a new Swedish medium line coming off the tier VII Leo I would recommend the Strv premium as a decent fun enough to play so it's not a chore tier VI crew trainer.

I have two premium T6s. T 34-85M which is awesome and Su100y which is good in the right position. I recommend T34 85M.

I like the STRV, nice little auto loader with decent burst damage. Main downside I feel is the very weak engine. Needs a hit point buff. Any shot to the engine knocks it out every time.

The strv is not really fast, has no armor and low view range. The gun is really nice though and I like the vehicle in general. :)

Type 64 is well worth the gold, it's one of the most comfortable LT's I've ever played and compared to other tier VI LT's it's a complete package with no apparent downsides.

Dicker Max is a something I considered my self when starting the German TD lines but I decided to not go for it since apart from gun depression it really don't got anything going for it.

SU-100Y used to be great fun, but these days I hardly see them around and I view it kinda like how I do the JT88, a relic of the past, haven't played mine since 2016 or something like that.

Strv m42/57 is a solid tier 6 MT in my opinion, here are my stats in it after 39 games in it:

Sure the mobility is a bit meh and sniping ain't exactly effective, but the burst damage as well as the rather short clip reload makes it a very comfortable tank to play in my opinion.

Strv m42/57 is not a good tank...burst dmage is nice, pen is ok, base accuracy is fine but, soft stats are terrible so forget about snapshots, view range is only 350m which is very bad even for tier 6 tank. For me the worst thing was gun depression, it is rather tall tank and it has only 6 degrees of gun depression which can cause a lot of akward and frustrating moments. It has trained 3 crews for me and I have 3 gun marks, but I never enjoyed playing it. T 34-85m or Type 64 would be much more enjoyable solution for you.

It's still quite a nice tank but the only issue it has that every shot in the front will kill it's engine pretty much, not damage but actually destroy.

Otherwise it's a nice burst with quite ok gunhandling.

Here is my review from quite a while ago:

Cobra 6

I actually just bought this tank, but haven't played it yet.

I bought it for the crew layout, it is the only practical swedish premium that has the 3 crew layout found on heavies, td's and the future med branch, so i can train crews on it.
