I'm gettin' twitchy...

And for FL, if I'm being honest.   :bush:

I quiet honestly don't care about Game of Thrones anymore.

The last seasons have been a big flat disapointment.

That's a shame. The longer it's gone on, I've thought, the better it's gotten.

Unfortunately that seems the way of a lot of the 'epic' TV series. They just don't realise when to stop.

Yeah I can't even remember how many series I've watched a few episodes of only to drop it after a while, only downside is the conversations at the lunch table at work but that's the same story as when ever any major sports event is on that I don't follow so I'm rather used to it I guess.

With all the diversions from the books (you may remember them from history lessons) It's hard to keep track of who the hell is supposed to be who.

I find the the combination of the number of series and the number of episodes in each leads to the main plot lines being flabby and draw out just to fill airtime. The you have the problem of just running out of new life ideas.

Good guys, bad guys, good guys who are really bad guys, bad guys who are really good guys, and Dragons, what's not to like?

It's because they started deviating from the source material at such an early point. The ideas were there they just messed with them too much.

Love that series, but I have to admit that this whole "bad guy turns into a somehow good guy" is a bit too much, the grouping at the end is a bit ridiculous. As well as all the massmurdering. But the whole making, acting, atmosphere and storytelling is just awesome. Bonus points for the soundtrack.

I also like to listen to the history and lore parts on youtube while being creative or even while doing things like potting or sowing plants for the garden.

best series since a very long time. Or ever?

I hope for a nice all-season-dvd-set when it's over...

you mean season 1?

if so it's definetly worth watching :great: I am just disapointed with the quality of the last few.

The first 4-5 are genious.

Yeah. It's a shame that it all has to end in such a world war slaughter.

What I always liked is how they managed to fill a whole world with characters, story and lore that you were really able to be hyped for. They showed the deep struggle that every single character had and managed to weave that all together to some extent. Every character slowly made some progress, then fell back again or changed his approach. Now it's all set, most characters have their place in the world and now it's just about massive fights, big explosions and basically thinning the amount of characters for the few final fights.

It's still good and awesome to watch and all, but the atmosphere suffered a lot for me...

Agree wholeheartedly with the above two posters.

I think the reason for that, is that the original author, G.R.R.Martin, was not the writer for the last season.

The television series overtook the books.

He always admitted he was a slow writer and that stuff would be done....when it's done. He was quoted as saying that he wrote the whole thing to be basically un-filmable.
