reinstalled WOT a few days back after a long break and want to watch a replay but it will not open?

replays turned on, all there and when I click on it I am asked to select an app to open

i click on

"C\GAMES\WORLD_OF_TANKS\wotlauncher.exe""%1"

but nothing happens

is there a new method with the new WG launcher set up?

You can't run old replays from previous patches on a newer patch.

You'd need to download a specific version of the game in which the replay was recorded in order to play it. It's a hassle so if you can't be bothered...don't be. :P

I'd also like to point out how incredibly ridiculous this issue is. :sceptic: WG, will you ever do something about it?

Open up your WoT folder in one window, your replays folder in another and drag and drop the replay onto worldoftanks.exe (you might not see the .exe if you have the default settings in explorer)

If you can't watch the replay files they ain't associated with WoT yet, in other worse your computer don't know what program you want to open them with.

What Homer suggested is the easiest way, but in the long run it become rather cumbersome, so instead you can right click on your replay file and then select "Open With" now a menu appears and you get the option to click on "More Apps" (assuming you got Windows 10). Make sure that the box labeled "Always use this app to open .wotreplay files" is ticked and  then scroll down and you'll see "Look for another app on this PC", now you can navigate to your WoT installation directory and find the file Homer suggested above "WorldOfTanks.exe", you might not see the .exe part if you don't have file endings enabled, select that file and your replay files will always open the correct way in the future.

Drag it on to the worldoftanks executable, not into the folder.  That will tell Windows to open the replay with that program.  It's an easy way of doing what you already tried to do.

Yeah but she already failed at that.

Which is why it's good to explain it so she hopefully won't in the future.

Don't bother with replays, it was frustrating enough the first time round.

Older replays are not compatible with the new patches, if you want to watch them, you need to find an older version of the game.

That's not the problem.  Somehow she no longer has replays associated with the game and was trying to play them using the launcher instead of the game executable.
