Hello! I am back with yet another poll today, this time, I wish to see your opinions and thoughts regarding the most disliked maps. Personally, Wargaming could learn a bit from these polls, but then again artillery and premium ammo wouldn't even exist if they did. (Maybe that's good???)

 

Either way, I really dislike the following: (note: What I say may not be 100% true according to others or just in general, it's just my personal opinion.)

  • Mines
    I usually play higher tiers (VII+), and this map is simply too small. It has the same issues as Province had back in the day, as said, being too small for higher tiers.
    Artillery being able to hit you almost anywhere, extreme camping by any tank type on either side. Just not a map for me.
     
  • Province (wow, surprise!)
    Camping camping camping.... Camping has loaded. The map has always been a camper map, but come on, even heavies camp on it.
    For me, old Province was better (in lower tiers)
    The cap circles don't make much sense because of the layout, and I feel like the map favors the "castle" spawned team quite a lot.
     
  • Sand River
    Oh my oh my.. This map... I get to play it a lot, and I am honestly tired of how open it is and getting artillery'd everywhere.
    You get flanked way too easily and way too often, and what can you do about it? Not much if you're nowhere near a ditch or a large building.
    I'm generally just really tired of how the map plays now.
     
  • Airfield
    It just doesn't feel like a good map for me
    Not much cover, tank destroyers having a huge advantage all over the map most of the time.
    Super heavy tanks end up dominating if the beachy area isn't really a zone in focus.
     
  • Erlenberg
    This map, I've never liked it for some reason that is hard to describe, and after the removal of the large hill by the castle it just seems like... A lost cause almost?
    Though, I must say, I like to play this map in my Cent AX but all other tanks is basically a nay for me.
    The "urban" area is the only area that doesn't seem too off, but they'll just get flanked by people on the upper grounds.

    Thank you, and please, I know I am an egghead with 12k battles, but us tomatos/bots or "low amounts of battles" players still have a heart and mind :(

Any stupid map that has a hill which means everything because it gives you the higher ground and control over at least 80% of the map. The team that takes that hill wins the game. Like Mines, Tundra, Fjords, and so on. And the maps that are nice, like Serene coast, Westfield, Live Oaks, Lakeville and even Sand River are ruined by 3 arties.

Abbey - Used to like it, but not I see it only as the prime example of a corridor map. Truly nothing special about this map nowdays, no matter how hard they try to improve it.

Highway - I honestly liked the old version more. Now the map plays out in a similar fashion each and every game. It takes you around 5 games on this map to have seen every winning and loosing scenario that could happen on it. At least it's somewhat balanced unlike previously. But I still hate it.

Overlord - It's not the map I don't like. It's the players behavior on it. Moronic top tier heavies going to the beaches. TDs redlining. Meds not knowing what to do, drive around and poke their noses where they shouldn't have. This map should have IQ requirements, not Tier requirements.

Paris - Most stupid map ever !

Studzianki - Narrowly beaten by Paris for dumbest map ever.

 

As soon as the new WoT Premium Account arrives, I'm banning Paris and Studzianki in a heath beat !

reworked (read made worse) maps and some new maps. On most of them the rule is: play aggressive = die

I can agree with the behaviour issues on Overlord, somehow mostly selfish and ego people turn up there. I like Overlord a lot, but I agree it has playstyle and player issues.

Paris is clearly the worst map.  And funnily enough the best map is a polar opposite to Paris, in terms of design and play style : Steppes (my favourite map).  We need more maps like Steppes IMO.

Paris* - doesnt matter what class I am playing, I dont like it

Empire's Border* - Map full of chokepoints, no thanks

Ensk - Its just too small. Either make it bigger or limit it to T7 like Province

Abbey - Basically 3 north-south corridors with decent fields of fire for arty

Widepark - Like Ensk, just too small. Plus I feel that south spawn has the advantage, both on 9-0 line with the big TD hill and the 1-2 line with more cover than the north spawn. 

 

*These two maps I will block when 1.5 hits.

I have no idea why many people hate on Paris. I've had great games on it even in arty.

Cant say.....because depends in what tank i am in.

i like Paris in a heavy but not as arty or LT

i hate westfield in LT and  med....but love it in arty and heavy.

I like the open maps in Med LT and Arty heavy not so much.

And than you have and what side you start on the map  ?!

The only maps I dislike regardless of tank type or tier are Tundra and Serene Coast.

Some of the maps I only dislike at a certain tier, where the view-range of the tanks make the small map ridiculous, a perfectly enjoyable map at T4 will become ludicrous at T9.

Airfield - The classic, has been a typical "you move, you lose" map for years and somehow WG still hasn't noticed

Empire's Border - The ultimate 2017 WG map design, a single, isolated, long corridor and the rest of the map is completely useless

Fjords - was meh, now it's horsecrap. Still heavily biased towards south spawn and now it's completely unplayable without mid control.

Minsk - town is a complete shitshow for everything that isn't a Type 5, and the other side isn't much better either

Pilsen - was pretty bad before, now it's the ultimate 2019 trash WG map design. It literally has everything bad about WG's map design since 1.0, rubble on every single corner so everybody is always hulldown, separated by big gaps so it's near impossible to push, less flanking than before because who needs that anyway, big TD plateaus with thick bushes and hard cover overseeing a large open killzone so a JP E 100 with 50% crew can outspot any light, blap it in the face and then retreat, and a single line of bushes that can only be spotted by proxy. I can't remember ever having a good game on Pilsen where the enemy didn't just push into me.

 

Honorable mention for Steppes, because it was such a good map and they made it so much worse with it's 2019 WG map designTM 1.0 makeover

Mines - too small for high tier tanks, basically unplayable with tanks that rely on distance from enemies to not get spotted

Mountain Pass - terrible corridor map, almost impossible to flank tanks

Paris, Ghost Town - I do not enjoy those maps with any class

Abbey, Airfield, Minsk, Studzianki, Fisherman's bay, Glacier. Those maps are literally unplayable, especially the first 4 ones. No exploitable positions at all, unless you have a vk72 or a 705a, nothing you can do wthout being ****** to death by clickers, camp fest with braindead td's positions to make sure you really can't do anything. Lovely design.

Paris - No matter the tank, it sucks. This map amplifies everything that is wrong with corridor map design.

Abbey - Only reason why Paris is worse is that there is a tiny chance of doing something dynamic in the middle.

Glacier - More corridors, more open spaces for arty, base campers and TDs to crap all over you.

Minsk - Corridors or get raped in the middle.

Airfield - Oh look, more corridors. At least here you can actually try something in the middle, but your success depends on how many TDs there are in OP camping spots (the fact that a TD in D2 can shoot you all the way in G5/6 sums the BS up). TDs in D2 can sh*t all over two thirds of the map.

Most maps have been made "flat" and had bushes and other cover removed.

Also climbing is no longer allowed making all maps that have been "improved" extremely boring.

Further it seems all maps that have been made flat only seem to have got that to allow wheelies to run free.

 

All in all I think all maps have been ruined so I need much more then 5 options.
