Hello there, fellow tankers and WG staff, i got some question that many of our players would like to get answered. Here are some:

 

1. When will regular tanks get buffed?

2. When will vanilla tanks get buffed?

3. Why premium tanks got better winrate?

4. Why its take so long to buff/nerf tanks?

5. Why is there a huge gap between tanks balance?

6. When you going to also focus on new players experience?

7. When will the game teach newcomers about game mechanics inside the game?

8. Why new players dont get more bonuses/boost?

9. Will there be moders tanks in future?

10. Why this game have premium ammo?

11. Why premium ammo does same dmg as regular?

12. Will there be any new gamemodes?

13. Why russian tanks get so much love?

14. When will you redesign maps?

15. Why it take so long to redesign maps?

16. When will you listen more to your community?

17. Why do you think good players leaving game?

18. Why this game focus so much on RNG mechanics?

19. Do you plan to decrease RNG?

20. Do you believe this game will survive in future with this RNG mechanics?

21. Do you think you understand what players really want?

22. Do you plan to upgrade old game mechanics?

23. Why are bots not getting perma bans?

24. Why do you think chat is so toxic?

25. Why do you think players use XVM?

26. When will you buff 121 line? (my personal questions)

Q1 to 5 plus 10 = Money.

11 is no it doesn't.

16 is Steve.

 

27 is pushing battle after losing 5 games in a row.  After 3 games you have questionable IQ, but after 5 oh boy..... straight jacket time.

1: Soon.

2: Soon.

3: No one wants to buy inferior tanks.

4: Data acquisition takes time, 6 months for a nerf of Obj 268 v4, a few weeks for the buff of the Obj 279e.

5: The game is balanced according to our data. The TVP VTU can kill a Defender, and the Leopard 1 is very good at sniping at ranges of 400-500-600m. Buffing such tanks would only make them overpowered. 

6: Soon.

7: Not needed. As long players find out how to buy stuff for money,  that is enough.

8: Boosts can be bought, and if new players dont know how to buy boosters, it is something to look into.

9: No.

10: Special ammo, a nd the upcoming change will make skill more important, and the pick of ammunition in regards to situation will become an important skill in WOT to master.

11: This will soon1be changed.

12: Yes.

13: There is no 'Russian bias'. 

14: Maps are redesigned and always up for changes.

15: Much work is needed to change a map.

16: Most of the post's of the forums are irrelevant and of no value to WG.

17: According to our data, they don't. 

18: There is not much RNG in WoT

19: No.

20: Yes.

21: Yes.

22: Game mechanics are always up for changes.

23: There are no bots.

24: Chat isn't toxic.

25: Because players are able to use XVM.

26: Soon.

27: Yes.

I'll try and answer these from WG's perspective as nobody from WG will ever see this thread.

 

1. When enough performance data has been gathered and analysed to warrant such a thing.

2. When we're out of chocolate.

3. Paying players are more invested in the game and therefore more likely to perform above average. :trollface:

4. Gathering/analysing data.

5. Balance is hard. I mean "our data shows no significant power gaps".

6. New players get 100% crews nowadays, what more do you want?

7.There is a bootcamp thingymajig.

8. This is an equal opportunity game, and older players would throw a hissy fit if they felt bypassed in any way.

9. ¿Que?

10. To preserve balance.

11. Because otherwise we'd be buffing superheavies' HP pool. Actually that's exactly what we're planning to do.

12. Soon. ™

13. Because Russia is glorious you capitalist swine.

14. When our lead devs get wrecked by medium and light tanks on semi-open maps again.

15. Balancing maps takes time, funnily enough.

16. We listen to all Russian tomatoes.

17. Nobody is leaving. People occasionally take breaks to spend time with family, but they always return.

18. Because players enjoy the extra challenge of an unknown factor, the game would be too predictable otherwise.

20. It's been around for a while. It'll be around for a while longer.

22. All mechanics work as intended so no need.

23. We ban people behind the scenes. No naming and shaming and all that.

24. Because people are passionate about this great game.

26. When we're done rebalancing Tiger II.

27. Continuing to raise the same issues over and over again in a forum that hasn't seen a WG dev visit in the better part of a decade.

 

Should be fairly accurate methinks.

Playing over 23k battles in a game you have 26 problems with?

2. When will vanilla tanks get buffed? Do you mean tanks from 2011-2013 tech trees? If so see above answer.

3. Why premium tanks got better winrate?  Better win rate that what? Better than each other or better than tech tree tanks? Premiums such as the Panther mit 8.8 will have a worse win rate than many tech tree tanks as will the Kanonenjadgpanzer

5. Why is there a huge gap between tanks balance? Because there are 360 odd tanks in the game and balancing them all is not as easy as it seems.

6. When you going to also focus on new players experience? They already did the new tutorials, and free tier VI and crew are a huge improvement over what it used to be.

7. When will the game teach newcomers about game mechanics inside the game? Done with the new tutorial. Make a new account and try it.

8. Why new players dont get more bonuses/boost?  Free tier VI tank and crew, missions, and now blueprints.

9. Will there be moders tanks in future? If you mean modern tanks, there will be none in PC WoT.

10. Why this game have premium ammo? It is a game mechanic and ensures WG make a profit, which in turn keeps the servers and game running.

11. Why premium ammo does same dmg as regular? See above.

12. Will there be any new gamemodes? Yes if you had watched the front page news you would have seen that they have already tested a Battle Royale mode (I played it on the test server in 2018 and didn't really like it). There is also the issue of historical battles as PvE which may come.

13. Why russian tanks get so much love?  Because the RU servers have hugely more players than the rest of the EU, NA and SEA servers put together and any sound business knows to try and keep more of it's customers happy, and not pander to a minority.

14. When will you redesign maps? Watch the announcements section on the front page.

15. Why it take so long to redesign maps?  Money and staff time.

16. When will you listen more to your community? WG listen to their community. The huge RU community, not so much the minority in the rest of the world.

17. Why do you think good players leaving game?  WG have statistics on players leaving and joining.

18. Why this game focus so much on RNG mechanics?  Because it has been a successful model since 2011, which is a pretty good run for a PC game.

19. Do you plan to decrease RNG? They have repeatedly said no, do you ever read the developer chats or watch the videos they post or look at the fansites?

20. Do you believe this game will survive in future with this RNG mechanics? Yes clearly they do.

21. Do you think you understand what players really want? Given they have been running at a profit since 2011 they have clearly developed something large numbers of players are still happy spending money on.

22. Do you plan to upgrade old game mechanics?  Where were you when new physics and patch 1.0 came out?

23. Why are bots not getting perma bans?  Try reading the front page news articles which periodically list the numbers banned.

24. Why do you think chat is so toxic?  Human nature.

25. Why do you think players use XVM?  Because we like it.

26. When will you buff 121 line? (my personal questions) When the nation being buffed is CN.

27. Do you now what is definition of insanity? Yes see Diagonostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disroders or DSM-5 as it is commonly referred to. Have you ever read DSM-5?

Maybe, instead of asking 27 mostly dumb questions, put a bit more effort into it and ask just a few more intelligent ones that are worth an answer?

Besides the capt obvious tanks like the Defender. Others that are considered worse than most normal tanks even have higher WR then their counterpart. I suspect because it's not driven by ever Steve there is like most normal tanks. As most good players stick to their fav prems. Like I have done with the T26E4 for years.

Define listen. As there is a difference between listening. And doing everything the community wants. As that "other game" died instantly due to it. They did everything, and I mean everything. And it took less then 4 weeks before people did understand that there was no balance counter to most aspects.

Again, due to some of your points above. + RNG is def still needed. Low RNG? well... that could even work with 10% vs 25%. But again that "other game" did test 0% RNG. That was a mess, as you had to run more then you could fight. As you lacked 1mm pen for even half the targets you faced, even on weakspots. They did end up on 10%. And it did work saving you from bad low rolls that could get you killed. Less so on high rolls vs more armored targets.

Thing is, what you want. Is not what most others want. As was clearly shown in the heated topic regarding 2019 changes that went out of hand. What makes you leave, makes others stay. And as that other game showed. Vs doing everything, you need to find a balance to make most happy. Not just one group. Some will get mad regardless and leave, even with your perfect game.  WG won't win either way.

The definition of Insanity is going to the same camping spot  on every map and wondering why arty hits you without being spotted
