Can't shoot anything that's on a ridgeline because the reticle jumps up randomly when it feels like it. WoT uses the worst trajectory calculation system ever.

Yeah, I have noticed this too. Does anyone know how to make allowances for this?

Many thanks in advance.

Discussed already a fair few times. Vertical lead is done for you by WoT (It would be a damn sight harder to hit anything if you had to do vertical lead as well as horizontal). When you lead a tank on a ridge your gun is aiming at the skybox, hence the reticle jump (because it thinks you're aiming for clouds, birds or sputnik). Only cure I know - aim at the ground closest to the tank and hope the shot goes high.

Yes, aim at a tank and not the sky.

Another troll alert.

He's aiming at the tank but the reticle jumps above it.

Been in the game from the start. Won't get fixed. Get used to it.

Because like most games with tanks in them... or rather every game... Even BF. You're not aiming at the air above the ridgeline. But rather the sky behind it. Or the hill outside the map. So the range suddenly differs. And sure it would be nice if you could turn that off and just have a flat aim all the time. But then you would complain about shots going too low or high when blind firing vs where you aim I'll bet.

Yes a tad annoying but been there forever or so it seems.

What I find a bigger, or should that be larger, annoyance is when you have a hunch the tank on the ridgeline has gone unspotted so you blind fire, off into the ether the shell flies.

Or pre aiming at a ridge line, reticule jumps up and down faster than a fiddler's elbow.

Manual compensation for bullet drop would be highly appreciated, but that wont happen for varying reasons. But for a starter they could remove the annoying behavior of the reticle to snap to random objects that are not tanks.

Wasn't there a mod that removed the skybox aiming? Or did it become non-FPP compliant?

Still allowed.

Aim at ground,  hit the key to lock in the range and shift aim to tank.

I don't use it myself, I just try and aim directly at the enemy or loop the shells low over the ridge if I need to lead them.

Aiming circle seems working as intended: best with premium tank, 5 skills-crew and premium account. Else it's just a compass guidance ;)

Ask the guys who can hit me in the tracks over a ridge line even if I cant see the top of their turret. Mind you they don't seem to wait for the aimcircle to shrink either. Maybe that's the trick, shoot randomly and be amazingly lucky over and over again.

A problem from the very start of the game's life. You can explain why it hasn't been taken care of yet with just one word! "Wargaming..."

I can't believe you've never encountered this issue before. I refuse to believe it.

The funny thing about this gif is that they're on top of a sort of ridgeline aswell. :D
