Live Oaks

If you're on the red team in Live Oaks, rush towards the city. Never mind the railroad, I'll be on the railroad in my green tank.

You can lose the city, you can win the city. Doesn't matter, if you win the city you'll get killed pushing out of the city.

That's when we kill your arty rushing west from the railroad bridge and win the game.

A touch of irony perhaps :)

Are you offering advice for how to play this map?

If so, you are correct. The city is a waste of time, especially if you spawn in the north-east. The team that spawns in the south-west has powerful camping positions overlooking the city where they have both hard and soft cover. If you push them back from there they can fall back to positions behind their own spawn where they have thick bush cover, so getting from the city to the cap is costly.

In general, any direction out of the city means you have to cross open ground and enemy campers and snipers will kill you easily.

Best tactic in randoms is to leave some TDs behind to cover the city with a scout and then the meds and heavies need to push the railroad.

And what if your own team decides it is the red team and rushes the city? And you go in to "your spot" and get flanked by the enemy meds who will outnumber you 5 to 1 because they did the smart move.

Never disregard what your team or the enemy team does, even if it is stupid.

From my point of view, till tier 5, railroad route is somehow better to go, starting with tier 6, city route is usually the way to go and to win more in that map.

Never had an issue with this as I have always been in the green team. :)

Always fun when teams decide to switch places. Red team defends green base. Green team splits between defending red base and pushing green base

You are the bloody red team. You can tell that by the title and the post you made. :/

Is this your way of telling us you just figured out the meta on this map?

Well that means he learns. Some never figure it out. So credit to him for learning it.

Certainly. He has an odd way of sharing his epiphany though.

Giving clear advice at the start of the game does not seem to be very successful. So I thought I'd try another approach. :P

Titel sounds nice but you are never in the red team but always in the green team.

It is just a colour representation to show sides. Should you start on the other side then it shows green for you.

Better clarify what site should "rush" in your story by giving a location?

Or is your story just sarcastic in tone?

I have question, but first of all I agree the city is as pointless as the beach on overlord.

Anyway, how to play the railroad when there are the inevetable 3 arty/side and you drive a tank without decent turret armour? Basically railroad is impossible when you get in to the hull down shoot-out, which is often the case when both teams have similar numbers of tanks there...

That's why I would rather have the red team in the city. :teethhappy:

To be honest, the City should be defended (just dont be dumb and push out, or just use Minimap while doing - sometimes the red (so you in your green tank) are struggling to overpush the TD defence in Base and nobody is taking care of the Tanks from City - you never know. But you can use Minimap, its not that hard. When you dont cover City from South Spawn, it will be even worse tbh.

So - every decision you make should focus on where you can deal Damage and Kills the most effektive way. In a OI (just to take an example you should have faced already) you dont go open space, especially if there s 3 Arties. Its just dumb, thats it. Imagine you are driving the OI - would you still go open field?

Generally (and its like in each other Map) - the open Space wins the Game, as long as they can spot the own base. You can win Lakeville Valley - it does not matter as long as the enemy has the city - its nearly impossible to win (when they know at least how to drive in a bush...).

TLDR: Try it further, try to improve the aspect of dealing damage and doing kills and focus on your role on battlefield - then you will win more. Its that easy :)
