I played so many games after the Rewards for Merit were added and I got some nice Rewards , but most of the times I get random bull$h!t , I mean they were announcing this for 1 day , It feels like it took them less for making it ...  Check their Guide for Rewards for Merit and then look what I got on my 5th Reward ...

They are fine as they are.Sometimes they feel like overkill ( getting equipment worth of 500k for free cause reasons) think of it as some extra passive income appreciate it and dont bother with it

Reward for Merit is the odd bit for me its a little like the good old Gem of the week where players pointed out that Gems are usually valuable.

Carry a game come top in damage or kills and nothing.

Have a worse than average game do a few hundred points of damage come near the bottom.

Get rewarded with 10k credits some consumables maybe a piece of equipment.

I have never yet been able to relate reward to any kind of merit I may have achieved.

rewards are nice, merits too

it's far easier to make credits, have equipment and research tanks now than before rewards

because there is none :)

For at least some 3-4 years its been quite clear that wg doesnt reward players for being good, but for nolifing as much as possible.

And if there is some "merit bonus" its quite negligible... like maybe +10% amount of boxes over thousands of games for a superunicum compared to a bot with 45% winrate.

So here's a guy complaining about free stuff that you get for absolutely no effort at all.

Some people...

Edit:

Besides, I hardly think getting premium days,  credits, premium consumables and camonets (250k a pop when you sell them) useless. Also I've gotten already (just to name the juiciest) 3x blueprints for Kranvagn and 2x blueprints for Emil ll so I'm quite happy with those.

I'm not looking forward to those 'rewards' either, they've become a nuisance when they pop on my screen and I have to wait for an animation I don't care about to finish.

Never got any equipment and the research bonus system is pretty awkward; they tried to split the bonus into bits and only created confusion.

The idea was nice, but the randomness spoiled it IMO.

Yesterday I remember getting blueprints for low tiers in trees I'll never be researching.

Those blueprints are useless and offering a player something he isn't interested in has never been good game design.

Good design is when the player eagerly waits for the reward to unfold, hoping to get something exciting.

Trash is not exciting.

For stuff that trickles in without having to put any effort into it, I think they are great. You get some bonds, a free premium day, equipment you can sell for 250K credits. All great stuff.

You got equipment and credits as rewards, which you highlighted in green ? Also, 2 vehicle blueprints (only one was promised for sure).

What *exactly* did you expect ? A complimentary reach-around from SerB ?

I like this new reward system. It gives you new free income and helps speeding up grinds a bit (got a blue print fragment for the AMD in example, saving me something like 5k exp in the butchered ELC).

The only thing I don't like much is that we can't chose if converting an already researched tank bluprint fragment into a national one or into a general one. As it is now, I have more or less 80 general fragment and just 3 national (2 for USSR and another one I don't remember), so I can't use those general fragment at all... :(

I'm very happy with them. I got some xp discounts on tanks that I will never go for, but I got quite some for lines that I'm working on at the moment. For 1 tank I even have already 3 blueprints. Got an extra toolbox and binocs and some nice directives. The only downside so far for me, is that I can't create much because I almost never get national blueprints. Got only 2 different ones so far.

I don't see your point.. You received 1 piece of equipment and 2 blue prints. That counts as a big reward. On the small ones you get only 1 blue print and some small stuff like directives, credits and consumables.

It’s FREE stuff you get for doing nothing more or less than just.. play.

i quite like them, got 3 day’s of premium, 3 crew skins, equipment and blueprints for tanks I’m actually grinding so far.

What’s not to like? Seems like a little entitled whine from OP...

The idea of rewarding good play is great...

But like others have mentioned is it truly rewarding good play. You can have an epic game, I had one recently 32k wn8 match and got no reward a couple of matches later a standard non event match I got a reward.

The issue I have with this is its a reward for pressing battle not the actual battle result. Its basically a % uplift in credits but when everyone is getting it then holistically it isnt giving you an advantage as everyone is getting "richer" not just the truly merit worthy.

Its a nice idea implemented badly... needs a tweak.

You can use your free exp to research low tiers if you want to increase your chance of getting higher blueprints.

The merit consists of playing. See it as a loyalty bonus. Sure, sometimes it is a rather nice bonus and sometimes it isn't. Either way, it is more than you would have gotten in the past. It doesn't cost you anything.

I quite like this from a forumite who has 'stop spending money on this game' as his signature

Unless you don't use your free XP for modules and thus play newtanks 'stock' you are not going to have any free XP to research lower tier tanks unless you use gold to convert it from XP on Premium/elite tanks - and gold costs real money

And even then, instead of fragments for lower tier tanks you haven't researched you get Universal or National fragments instead... and you have to collect a whole bucketful of them to get a useful tank fragment

There's plenty of people who have their accounts in a stage where you just play stuff and accumulate free xp you have no current use. I know I ain't one of them, but I've seen plenty. So for example my friend just free xp'd the low tier soviet arty pieces so he stopped getting those blueprints etc. And it cost him nothing.

I think WG was being a bit philosophical about the Merit word...

After all the Merit rewards require no merit at all, so to me its a metaphor of the corporate world from some frustrated beaten game programmer... one I can relate with.
