Hi there fellow tankers!

I remember having a similar topic back when Super Conq was Top of the Tree and I recall it being a great channel for venting out frustration and looking for help for problems that might come up with tanks. So, noticing the absence of such topic, I started one.

How is your Top of the tree grind going? How do you feel about these fine jewels of British engineering?

I currently finished my Centurion 1 and bought the 7/1. Oh boy that stock grind, given I used all my free exp for the Udes 14 5 and now I'm gonna have "the full experience" on this one. I'm sure the new prem account and the 5x and the push through stuff will help immensely though, so I'm not as crushed by it as I'd normally be.

For the line, so far I've enjoyed most parts of it:

- Crommy: Still in my garage though doesn't get attention all that often anymore after they put T34-85m in the game. I used to love it's speed and versatility. Was my go-to stronghold tank back in the day.

- Comet: For me this was sort of "meh" even though I eventually did get the hang of it and occasionally could make it work. I just never learned to use those high dpm, low alpha tanks.

- Centurion l was a monster of a tank. Sure it was sort of a one trick pony, but oh boy did it do that one trick well. 470m view range and tough turret with great gun depression and penetration. I loved it and finished with ~60% wins and ~1910wn8 which for my standards is flipping awesome. Only got some 70 games though since I occasionally drove it around frontlines.

Looking forward to Cent 7/1. I hear it's the favourite tank of many youtubers / streamers, so it can't be all that bad, right?

So, gimme your thoughts!

I got about half way through the Comet grind a long while back and just lost interest with it, switching to the FV4005 TD line instead. Can't say I have any regrets, Charioteer was what I was after, I have it and really like that tank, very M4 Rev like in a way, just with way better dpm in exchange for wobbly gun handling. The Comet still sits neglected in my garage empty of crew. I thought maybe some day that something like a TOTT might rekindle my interest in this line but it actually hasn't. I'm currently grinding the Italian medium line, almost unlocked the Standard B and I've been enjoying it so I'm sticking with that instead, these mobile, papery auto-reloaders suit my playstyle very much, I'm not sure the Centurians would.

Have been grinding this line for a while now and been slowly getting through the 7/1. Only about 25k left till AX so more than happy with this month’s TOTT
I actually rebought the cent 1 and also bought another Cromwell B when it was on offer earlier this week even though I already had it. Just for the BIA crew and I’ve stuck that in the cent 1. I feel with a few crew boosters and the x5 bonus I’ll be able to get a decent crew in that in no time.
Going back to 7/1. It’s a decent tank if you play to it’s strengths. Lacks dpm compared to other tier 9 meds but is a very strong ridge line sniper. Very good gun imo

Is the AX any better than the 7/1??

A slightly improved engine is all I see

At least the sooperconkeror has an improved turret over its tier 9 sibling

Got penned twice in a row in the mantlet yesterday with my 7/1 with regular ammo.

The gun is nice, granted, but lacks penetration when facing heavies, 270 is not enough.

The tank being the size of a barn doesn't help either, if surface translates into armor - which it does - any Russian tank has twice the armor, not counting a better turret to begin with.

I would like to see a reason to grind the AX but I can't see any.

The Comet, IMO, was the best tank in the line.

This tank suffer from idiotic weakspots problem. That's a British thing... why do you have such big gaping wholes in the armor of the mantlet and turret,

What's the point of having such tanks.... better make paper tanks.

That is just annoying has hell, made my Conqueror grind a pain, and now with the Centurian is the same thing... Aimbot galore

Cromwell was nice. Now it's dusting in the garage after Cromwell B took it's place.

Comet was pretty horrible. Basically a Cromwell but a tier higher.

I skipped Cent 1.

Cent 7/1 was an absolute beast. DPM is bad, but that HESH saves the day. Best tank in the line

I've played only 1 game in AX. Top speed is meh. It turns nice but could go a bit faster. The gun is nice, but the soft stats aren't. Takes a while to aim. It loses the super HESH and gets 330 Heat but still keeps the high pen HE. I think it's a good trade for T10. DPM could be a bit higher. 6,9s reload time feels like T9 medium reload.

After the lovely Covenanter, the enjoyable Crusader (was a LT back then), I hated the Crommwel with it's paperish armour and bad gun handling. Still sit in my garage as a relic of old tier 6 skirmishes with my old clan, even if I far preferred the T-34-85.

Now halfway through the Comet. Lovely tank if it wasn't for that crap low pen/low alpha/bad gun handling combination. -14°of gun depression is quite good, if just gun handling wasn't that bad it would be a really strong ridge line fighter. But as it is now I struggle to do more than 1500 HP of damage per match. Just need 40k exp to unlock the Centurion 1, but I fear it will take most of the ToTT event to reach it if I do barely 5k exp in a 3 hours session...

Already had the CAX :P Imo the Cent 7/1 is a lot more fun so it might be worth considering keeping that instead of buying the CAX.

Finished the Comet grind a few days ago. Didn't want to grind the Cent I, so used free xp (also because my regular toonmate Undutchable already was at the Cent 7/1).

I bought the Cent 7/1 and used free xp to get the big gun.

Had a few games in it yesterday. If you can go hull down, the tank is ok. But besides on the turret, it has no armor at all......been ammoracked a few times, but that is nothing new with Britisch tanks.

So far I enjoy the Cent 7/1.

Still love the Comet and Cromwell. I still have the Cromwell even tho I got the B too. Hated the Cent 1 back in the day, not played it since the line was new. No idea how it is now. Cent 7/1 was one of the more gentle tier 9 grinds back then "tho with the pre-nerfed turret". As you had more pen then the T-54, and insane DPM to go with it. So you were not that useless in a support role. Not sure how good that works in the current meta with all the armor around.

As for the Cent AX? I did the mistake of playing it first for the 4202 missions. When you needed wins in your AX. Issue was that there were 10 to 15 on each team doing it. So the matches were a nightmare. Thus the terrible start I got in it, and tbh I've not touched it much since.

I need another 45k XP to get the top gun of 7/1. I hate the stock grind of this tank. And I already have 2 BPs for CAX so that means I need 25200 less XP for CAX.

The one thing that makes C 7/1 stock so crazy hard is the stupid price of premium rounds. 4400 credits for 230 alpha.

490 alpha shells cost 4800.

Didn’t get along with the Centurion Mk. I. Bought back the Centurion 7/1.

Kept the Covenanter (7th played), Crusader (10th played/3 moe), Cromwell (most played tank) and Comet. Also have the CAX.

Had the Centurion 7 / 1 unlocked for quite some time now, but never got around to buying it, since I was waiting for discounts (and I had plenty of other grinds left). Used freexp for the tracks, second gun and turret. Grinded the top gun yesterday. Second gun DPM was quite fun, but the top gun is nice! Except you can't snapshot, and even fully aimed shots will troll. Currently @ 50k xp into the grind. And funny thing is that I got a blueprint for the AX yesterday. Perfect timing!

Sold the Centurion 1 as soon as I finished that grind. Somehow it didnt work for me.

Comet and Cromwell are still in garage. Very nice tanks. Even though I have to train their crews up, since they moved on to the 7/1 and soon the AX.

Cromwell and Comet are two of the best tier-for-tier tanks in the game in my opinion, case closed on these.

Cent 1: It has "only" 230 alpha, but boi, that penetration....I loved playing it.

Cent 7/1: One of my favourite tanks in the game (but i can tell you the same about every t9s i own :D) I can't really say any flows about this tank. Keep in mind that it has a 480 alpha HESH as prem.ammo. Someone said before that 268 standard pen is not enough......Boi what you cant pen with 268, shouldnt be penned. You are a fast medtank, relocate and shoot from a different angle....... -.-"

Cent AX: Im kinda bad with it, like with other tier 10s, they are not my cup of tea, but still, it has everything as the cent7/1 except for the HESH rounds. I like playing with it, didn't regret grinding and buying it.

The only flaws the Centurions have is their size and the ridiculous ammo racks.......every 3rd-4th hit on me damages the ammorack.

Just gotta love these new prem account multipliers and the 5x you get from ToTT. I just got 14k xp from 2 wins that were not very impressive. So I'm slowly getting closer to the second gun. I'm kinda in between of just popping reserves and just doing the grind or just playing the doubles and 5x and waiting for free xp to accumulate.
