What can you say about these Swedish medium tanks?

Do you like them? Are they fun to play?

I have some Female crew members in the barracks and I would like to use them.

I actually like fast and mobile tanks in general, so I thought, maybe it would be cool to have at least tier VIII and IX...

All opinions and suggestions are welcomed.

Well, I've only had a couple games in the fully upgraded tier 8 so I'm hardly an expert.

For me the tier 8 feels pretty much like a matchbox sized revalorise, with slightly better gun depression.

- Gun feels a bit derpy with slow reload

- but the Alpha is very good at 360.

- Armor is paper, although tier6 mediums do need to aim for LFP frontally, but other than that, you're not likely to bounce anything.

- the tank is very light and the enemy players often know that.

Do I like it? Well, kinda. It's satisfying to play and you are kind of flexible. On the other hand I am a bit disappointed for not having a proper turret on the tier8.

I've ground both mediums and heavies with the tier7 Leo. It was a solid tier7 medium with the big gun, you just need to play it smart and with patience. It's got decent mobility, good gun depression and very nice alpha for it's tier. That is if you ever hit anything. And pen.

I don't dislike the tank, I think its just a bit too easy to hit... nobody has problems shooting my turret... so if its to get shot either way, why do I need gun depression..

It should be hard to hit such a small exposed turret on a snapshot... but in reality it  isn't...

To red-line snipe we don't need much gun depression....

The tier VII Leo is interesting. This is because it has two gun choices, and some players prefer one over the other. In addition some players like it (I do) and some do not like it.

Tier VIII I have this with the tracks and big gun, but not the top engine. The armour is not as bouncy as I would have hoped, but so far with a mere thirty of so battles I am quite enjoying the grind.

I used my Santa Claus and three girls on the Leo from Christmas to grind the required exp on the Leo prior to the patch, and so I could buy the tier VIII on patch day. It also means I am playing it with a three perk crew.

much like how arthur said so, the leo is a little bit like marmite, though not to some extent like other tanks. You do have a choice for two competitive guns, and while one makes you like a comet, you get the slight advantage in alpha(10HP more per hit can add up quickly) whilst the 105, which is what I used, packs better standard pen, excelent alpha for its tier, but slow shell velocity and it can be quite derpy. Though that did not detain me really since I have things like the KV-2 and the T34.

the tier VIII I'm actually enjoying. Maybe it is because it has a TD like playstyle and that sweet alpha that is high for tier VIII, plus good camo and view range if you equip it well. the gun is as derpy as the 105 on the leo, but you get the added bonus of having decent penetration and quite nice shell velocity.

don't know what to make of the tier IX, not heard many people praise it

Thanks for your opinions guys.

I think I will use smaller gun on my Leo.

Maybe I will try 105 mm as well once I unlock it.

Even though I really don't like guns with bad accuracy...

I found the Leo good in a hit-and-run tactic, using the 105 mm.

About the tier 7 Leo, if you want big games use the 105mm gun but if you want consistency use the 75mm gun.

I will test both guns.

After that, I will try to decide which one to use.

They just made the Leo a pinchpoint in the grind, just when I thought I was nearly done with it.

It's a funny old tank that matches its player - a good player will play well. An inconsistent player like me has, well, inconsistent results in it and when RNG says Hi to the derper gun the reload is a killer.

So far, I'm not excited about the Leo.

I unlocked tracks and all top engines so far.

Still need to get 105 mm gun and top turret...

So far I tried Tier 8 and Tier 9 (and of course previous tiers but I guess OP ask about new ones).

I like them both. Tier8 have no armor and so, so mobility but it have excellent cammo and 360 alpha gun. Gun is derpy but 360 alpha on T8 medium is really nice. Played it stock, only Free XPed tracks because you can not mount equipment on stock tracks even with stock modules (vstab, rammer and optics that I use). Even stock it was decent.

Tier9 does not have so awesome gun because while 360 alpha on T8 medium is great, 390 on T9 medium is nothing special as there many T9 mediums with that alpha. And also gun can sometimes troll you quite hard. Free XPed top gun because as on T8 on stock tracks you can not mount equipment but on this one top gun is lighter than stock one so I went for Free XP gun instead of tracks )if you free xp gun but not tracks you can still mount all equipment and even after that turret since top turret is also lighter than stock turret).

Fully upgraded can be really awesome when you get good position where you can abuse gun depression and extreme turret angles as you can shoot enemies while they can not do much against you. Mobility is on decent side.

So far I do find new swedish MT grind as good one and as with them those WOT premium account bonuses came making grind nice and fast.

I grinded both the Emil and (n)UDES with the 105mm on the Leo, that is a tank that offers 2 different play styles imo, either a support med with the small gun, which permits longer range shooting or close range peekaboo tank with the big gun, it is up to your playstyle.

As for the tier 8 (n)UDES... i knew i wanted it the moment i read the testing specs. And so far i'm definitely not disappointed, it is just a quicker version of my beloved M4 Rev that sacrifices 30 alpha and some accuracy to gain awesome gun depression and pen.
The only thing i don't like so far is how fragile it is, if you get hit, something breaks,it is also prone to frontal engine hits and fires and with only 3 man crew if you lose one you are really crippled especially if they hit the commander as he is also the radio operator and loader.

Well... I'm not that one who is using that new Premium account, so unlocking those tanks will be really hard...

And I'm not going to use it because of the reasons.

How dare you ?

Do you think you have enough tanks ? Enough money ?

That you want to keep playing one tank at a time ?

PS : unlocking with reserves is not "really hard", even in standard account.

Yes, I know that.

I always try to use reserves when unlocking new modules or vehicles.

I found the 75/76 mm on the Leo great. Great gun handling and rof. Good for tracking, speculative snapshots and dpm-ing lone tanks to death at the end game. I played 65 games at 69% wr with 1.3k dpg for the UDES 14 grind. Clearly getting that high a win rate is not representative my skill on this tank, it involved a big wodge of skill. Long-term win rate feels like it might be 60% ish. I didn't try the 105mm as I didn't want to risk losing my winning streak.

The luck did desert me when I move up to the 14 alt 5. So far I've played 44 games with 39% wr at 1.3k dpg. Yes, that w/r is worse than a bot. Clearly the mm's not been in my favour, but I haven't worked out if its a good tank. Alpha, shell speed and size of tank is good. But paper armour, rof, and low height which means you can't see over ridges without getting on top of them is not good. Any pointers on how to play this tank would be appreciated.

Tier 9 I'm not Impressed with as of the Test Server, Grinding the Tier 8 now.....     I was in a Game on Abbey yesterday and I went pretty Aggressive in it....       It actually worked better than I thought it would....

Tier 9 Game and started Back a Bit hitting their M103 twice, one Tracking....     I also got the Kill Shot on him after the 3rd shot Bounced....       Charged the T30 and hit him for a Drive By and the Kill Shot with the Second before going after the O Ho up Close....      Almost had him too, but their Panther II was Sniping my Back whilebI was trying to stay away from the O Ho's Gun....

Frankly, I'm surprised the T30 let me Past him as it is....     But this is certainly NOT the Correct way to Play the 14/5....     lol
