I did once, at the start of my 'career'. Used the credits to buy and equip some tier 4's. Sort of a jumpstart.

Except for crew retraining and moving some modules I don't see much use for ingame gold. Most things which are interesting (new premium tanks, premium tanks on offer, etc) are without some super rare exceptions only purchasable for real money --- and come bundled with some gold on top (to drive the price up some more, as if those few pixels wouldn't be priced high enough already).

 

I still have some gold left over from the Christmas boxes from 2018 which got even higher thanks to the boxes from x-mas 2019 …. and only reduced itself for prolonging prem-time and the occasional crew-retrain or "damn this tank is completely unplayable in base config" (most of the tier 8s actually) skipping some module-grind here and there and making a tank "more playable" (I generally don't skip tanks but sometimes modules if the base-grind is absolute hell --- say hello tvp)

 

 

Really. Make gold usable for some of the more interesting stuff ((skipping parts of marathons - just like with real money, which we used to buy the gold already …. /// buying prem tanks in general and not only "here, we're nice and this time you get to use your gold /// or whatever)) surprise us with something that is actually interesting to spend the gold (we purchased and gave you money for already) on.

 

Yes, people will argue "but that's not in WG's interest, as they have that money already" …. but stop that. I know what you're getting at, but it's actually the other way around. We gave them money. They added gold to everything (I mean, even the Fury bundle includes 2500g again. And missions. Just so it doesn't sell for the 10€ the tank would be worth artificially inflating an artificial price point...), making us pay more for services we want (by adding things we wouldn't buy otherwise) without giving us enough meaningful possibilities to spend this "currency" they shove down our throat's in any possible way.

Useful for a player hitting mid tiers who hasn't yet managed to build up a pool of credits but now needs to buy and move/remove equipment or retrain crews etc to remain competitive.

GOLD as ingame currency  should be able to cover / buy everything what game hjas to offer!

Currently only 1/2 can be bought: retraining, exp and few poor techtree premium tanks!

No special offers, no BIA tanks, no op russian tanks.

Yes, a lot of players, especially the tier IX-X "WN8 (aka Statistics) Addicted Players & Special (aka Gold) Ammo Spammers".

Mate, you/we don't spent your/our precious (real) money to buy "pixels", we spent our money to have some fun ...

... That is the point of the Video Games ... they sell fun/entertainment.

It is exactly the same like you spent money to see a movie, you don't buy the "images", you spent your money to have some fun (at your free time).

In every other online game it works like this, interesting to see WG can pull this joke off and still get away with it

Only okay bundle is Basic needs as it give 30 days premium and bit gold to take off equipment and maybe convert some free XP for modules… And it has an okayish price...

The only reason I can think of to want gold to be able to buy everything in game is if I could earn gold.

Otherwise Its not really a problem.

I buy the gold I need at the time, the only reason I have 20k gold right now was by buying loads of gift boxes at Christmas, otherwise I would just be getting 500 - 1000 gold as and when I run out.

 

In the same way I by Premium time when I want to and Premium tanks.

owning in game gold for some future use I might have for it seems strange.

Its converting my actual money that I can spend anywhere into a specific currency that can only be used in the game.

Rather get a premium tank and grind some credits, and with Frontline around a week once a month it is quite easy to stock up on credits in that period with 1-2 premium tanks as long as they are fast enough to relocate and get some good shots in.
