This thing is awful when its stock, how do i even grind it?

Hitting things is easy, plus the armour on the turret is good, but how the hell am i supposed to do any damage when the gun has 226 pen and 230 average damage?

I have the top engine from the Conqueror but how am i meant to grind 45k exp for a very very slightly better gun and then another 80k for the turret and gun?

33% win rate in 26 games, i have 15k exp, so thats around 330 exp/game, so 109,000 ÷ 330 is 330 games.

330 games until i can actually use this tank as it should be used.

Any advice is appreciated.

The pen is usually enough for most things that you will meet. If you have exp reserves and do 3-5 battles per day or until you get the double win + 5x win, the grind will feel a lot less painful. It's a lot less than 300 games, that's for sure.

Use free XP from other tanks to get the modules you need and don't play "stock" tanks.

I bought 30 days premium time just to test it. It gives so many bonuses that stock grind felt like cheating. It took about 75 battles to fully pimp that ride with 37% WR. The best engine makes that thing shine. It is a bit slow without that.

1. Never play stock tanks in high tier

2.Use free expiriance to upgrade your tank

3. You dont have 150k  free xp?

4. Play 15875 games with garbage tier 9 centurion 7/1 to upgrade gun, and another 1764 game to upgrade engine

OR

4.Use your Visa/Maestro card ( At the and of the day this  game is made to take money from you)

I used XP reserves and daily 2x bonus+5x bonus for ToTT. And for every 20k damage, you get an extra 5k XP. I did without a premium account. I  unlocked the middle gun, Top gun and the turret in about 30 or 40 games, I don't remember the exact number. And now I have 75k XP in it as well. But once you get the top gun, you see what a great tank it is. I just wish it had 330 HEAT instead of those stupid HESH shells.

Btw I already had the top engine and the top radio from other Brit tanks and only used free XP for the tracks.

  • Carry at least 10 gold rounds, those have 258mm penetration.
  • Try to pen at least 6 shots per game.
  • Use XP and crew XP reserves if you have them.

Hang back, hide your hull and use that rate of fire. 226 is enough for most things and what you can't pen you can lock their tracks down.

I played the stock grind during this Top of Tree -event. I played only mostly only the 2 first wins for 2x and 5x, sometimes with reserves but mostly without and always used the 3x bonus from Premium account for it. I had the top engine already from some other tree. It took me 34 games with 52% wins and some 1300dpg. I did actively try to spot as much as I could by going to aggressive hulldown positions.

I did my T 54 grind, with the T 44's gun, when it had 175 standard pen, 226mm pen is not that bad, but yea the alpha is pretty bad for the tier. Still there are worse stock grinds.

Uhm.......excuse me, that thing on stock is very reliable, 226 pen should be enough for everything, you just dont shoot the tanks on their turrets..............

This^^ That second gun DPM is insane. <5 sec reload with a good crew (and without food) means permatracking heaven. Don't go alone, always go with others that can shoot what you keep tracked. If you find tanks that are hulldown, use that mobility to move away and find other targets, or shoot HE. Wont do much dmg, but critical hits every 5 seconds is hilarious.

I found it no Different that a Topped Out Cent from Tier 8, so that was how I played it.....     Once the L7 was on it, it was a Different Beast.....      I used my Bromwell Crew from the MkI on Up, so they were 3 Skills at Minimum before I got to the 7/1.....

Keep Playing it as a Bottom Tier Tank until the Upgrades start Piling On.....      Changing because it's a Tier 9 will just get you Dead alot.....       Or Free XP all the Modules you can before you Drive it again....

The DPM is irrelevant as you cant use it, the problem is the aim time, any shot fired without waiting for the aiming circle to completely reduce will result in a miss, fully aimed it's pretty accurate any circle movement at all and the shots go wild even at point blank!

Thing about the Cent 7/1 Stock is it's STILL the Last Tank you just Ground thru with Better Armor and Hit Points.....      So just play it like a MkI/III until you get it Topped Out.....

It's not a Bad Tank, but unless it's Top Tier where it can throw it's Weight around, it's still just a Cent.....

I am also using my Bromwell crew... they moved from the Crom to the Comet to the Centurion I and now the 7/1. Add in food and a rammer and the DPM on the stock gun is great. I'm only 7 games in and already have 28k xp due to the x5 for the past few days so actually the grind is going to be relatively painless. All I used free XP for were the tracks so I could mount equipment.

It's just like K-91,only not laser-accurate!

@Topic:

Generally, free exp is the way,do games in Churchill III  to make tons of it. Since I won't have the engine from Conq., I will have a harder time. However, the new free exp bonuses from WoT Premium make this hilariously fast.
