Was thinking after my latest bout of whitewash games, why not desert halfway through the pain at 0-8 save myself the bother and jump straight into another win battle based on the 50% algorithm.win lose win lose win lose...is this a common approach from anyone else?

No,this is just a downward spiral which is inevitable considering how miserable or incompetent WG is by not balancing their mm or tanks to say the least.Just stop paying WG as more ppl every day do if not quitting the game completely

There is no 50% algorithm, just the natural result of the match format. Most players will win just shy of half their games. And WG can't really do anything about whitewash results without actively rigging matches, so be careful what you wish for!

You'd experience fewer whitewashes if you play the match until the end or simply stopped pressing "Battle" entirely.

Well not everyone is as awesome as your avatar image. But... you keep leaving. Let me know how many you did before you get a warning or get banned. I'm actually curious how fast or slow the system is.

You still can desert but it takes a few seconds more: charge in so the enemy can achieve objectives and are not spoiled, or drown yourself or crash from a cliff if you feel like it.

But you are correct: a player has better things to do with its time than waiting for a painful and inevitable death, nobody has to lecture you about it, it's your time, not theirs.

Of course, it's bad for your WN8 but if like myself and many others your removed that crap from your computer, there is no reason to give a damn about it.

I'm a bit confused now. You don't play WoT because you like to drive and battle virtual tanks as you only play it to win? In that case, there are easier games that will give you your winning fix. When I'm focused on the game, I love playing against the odds. It gives me the challenge to see how many enemies I can take down before we lose the battle. Some of my best and most pleasing games were ones against a far superior enemy force

Could not agree more. That's why I'm supporting XVM ban from the WoT

Like in the case of Ajax vs Tottenham there's always the chance of a last-minute surprise. :izmena:

Thanks for your opinions, all valid thanks and they help.....except for OreH75

Even if his tone was rather immature, he is right with the point he made. Leaving a match only because you think it's not worth it is rather stupid and asocial. You'll just ruin the match even more for those who actually try to win. Besides that, there are many matches that still end with a fat win even though the beginning was rather rough...

So if you really think that way, you should just quit playing all together instead of deliberately making the game worse for the other players. And with quitting I mean quitting AGAIN, because you already did that. Multiple times.

btw1: Answering the same way as he did is just as immature.

btw2: Please stop with that "50% algorithm" nonsense...

If you feel the need to desert a battle, why don't quit for the day? At least give one last performance & then call it a day. I do my best every battle, even with a bad team, because my HP is sold at premium rates, no discounts.

And if I get a series of bad games that makes me feel I want to quit? I finish the battle & quit for the day, playing another game, like Warhammer, swarming the world with my Skaven legions or a relaxing game of Settlers.

Deserting is not economically profitable.
I'm also convinced there is no 50% algorithm.
But I think there is unbalanced MM and unbalanced RNG in the game, as part of WG's customer retention algorithm.

As for the reason of shortening the battle, I think there is a clear rationale for it: are you driving a slow-aiming bottom tier heavy on Prokhorovka, the game is 0-6 and your team can't get anything done? Time for leaving.
This battle could go on for several more minutes and:

- waste your time
- waste activated reserves' time

Deserting is certainly the worst way to quit such an unbalanced battle. Rather, spend just up to ONE MINUTE more of your time and make a dangerous move with which you can either get a few shots on the enemy or spot one or more enemies.
In most cases, this dangerous move will send you back to the garage with more credits and experience than if you had deserted.

In some cases, such a move can even turn out epic and you get to faceroll a few enemies if lucky.

Do you know what empathy is?  Now ask yourself how you feel when somebody does something bad when you are playing and enjoying yourself?  Apply that feeling to everybody else playing and, voila, you now know what empathy is.  It's a shame you need this simple thing explaining.  I guess you are so good at the game that it is irrelevant?

Bought a ticket to a movie.

Started to watch that movie.

Then realise that the movie is very bad.

What would you do?

Stay and suffer for one and half hour?     ... ie.: lose your own time.

Leave and enjoy the life?         ... ie.: lose your invested money.

I prefer to enjoy life.

You forgot that you bought that ticket together with 14 friends.

And that you perfectly knew that the movie will suck, but you still came to see it.

I've got no time for snowflakes who don't try and with an instinct to give up, who taught you that, family, friends, or school?

Keep bailing out when things get sticky, ignore the warning from WG when it comes, and when the ban finally drops you'll have time to find another game and not be a dead weight in WoT.
