Bought a ticket to a movie.

Started to watch that movie.

Then realise that the movie is very bad.

What would you do?

Stay and suffer for one and half hour?     ... ie.: lose your own time.

Leave and enjoy the life?         ... ie.: lose your invested money.

I prefer to enjoy life.

You walking out of the cinema does not directly affect 14 other people.  Equivalence fallacy.  If I walk out of a cinema It is within a few minutes and I expect a refund on my ticket.  I also do not walk back into the same cinema moments later expecting the film to have changed.

Well you get a ban if you do it repeatedly. I admit I have done it a bunch of times myself, but only when I was really angry. You get all these amazing teams where all of them camp in the base and start crying about how you are the noob, or those super humans who first shoot you then block you to make sure you can't fight anyone. To force you to kill them. In these cases I just leave the battle. I won't give those a-holes the satisfaction of getting me banned.

I've got no time for snowflakes who don't try and with an instinct to give up, who taught you that, family, friends, or school?

Keep bailing out when things get sticky, ignore the warning from WG when it comes, and when the ban finally drops you'll have time to find another game and not be a dead weight in WoT.

The irony that quitting makes them even more useless than their already failing team mates always seems to be lost on these people.

Thank again for the moral guidance all, probably right that it isn't very sporting to quit mid game...my bad.  I guess I need to try harder and not get frustrated. Thanks

It's not sporting but this is hardly a sport. Your team mates don't give a fig about you, unless you don't do what they've been yelling at you about or clicking on repeatedly for the last 30 seconds.

I've been in games where we've been 10 down within 2 minutes and have surrendered all the best positions. That is very vexing, but sometimes - and it's not often - you get the feeling that the remaining team can pull it off.

If you don't get that feeling, you've got multipliers running, the wife is waiting to serve dinner that she's slaved over, the dog is sitting at the front door with the leash, then do what your last 10 team mates did and suicide into the enemies waiting guns but every now and then, you pull off that game. You know, the game we all remember where despite the odds, you made it happen and that feeling is well worth playing for. After as many battles as I've had, it's about the only reason I keep coming back.

this is a common approach how to get a nice fat ban for a while... well deserved

Lolnope! WG don't bother banning for desertion, you just get a pathetic slap on the wrist of 0 creds, 0 exp for a game you weren't going to play anyway....It's as if they are admitting the MM is broken.

Instead of deserting, why not do one last charge into the enemy? Go out in a blaze of glory?

The game can be frustrating, but the right thing to do would be to either quit the game after that last frustrating game & enjoy another game, or toon up with (ingame) friends & have fun. This depends on what helps best for you. Or pick your fun tank & have a blast. All depends on what works best for you. But I wouldn't continue playing the frustrating tank, leave that for another moment, when you don't feel so frustrated playing it (thanks to teams/MM/terrible grind), because doing that would only increase the frustration & lessen your performance, increasing the grind & dislike for the game.

Oh and try harder & not get frustrated works too, if your mindset is into it. If you're already frustrated it is hard to get out of that. When I play, I sometimes set small goals for myself, like achieving a Steel Wall during a session, or attempt to deal/block my own HP in a game. Or when the situation calls for it, be a spotter in my blind heavy. That one is alot of fun I find, does need a rather bad team on vision-control tho, but in turn, attempting this can save me from being frustrated about my team for not spotting reds & make me go 'Lets see if i can do a decent job where my team failed'

I'm getting pretty good at that tbh, KV-4 scouting on Prohorovka, nobody expects that. Can turn a bad/frustrating game into a funny experience.

Or just go full silly mode & play 'King of the Hill' mode. Context: Sand river & people were being very campy (lots of TD's) & I was originally the only one in mid: lets go up that nice spotter location with my Maus & show myself to every possible enemy TD in the vicinity! Getting aggro they call this, also works on players when used well. because who can resist shooting that Maus high & dry in full view?

I am the King of the Hill! Challenge me!

Edit: Note that above action (put your HT up for all to see & shoot) is generally ill-advised, but when starting team deployments are being odd & you see a chance? Why not?

Whilst I understand the frustration, in the 7 or so years I’ve been playing this game I can count on one hand the battles I’ve deserted. All of them were because I’m an idiot and either got myself stuck in the terrain or flipped myself and none of my “team” gave a damn.

Do your tanks hitpoints in damage (if possible) and then die gracefully. Who knows ... you might Rambo it.

I've seen enough 1 v 8 end up as 1 v 0 games to know that nothing is inevitable. Hell, I've even been the one in a 1 v 5 that won.

(Also, how can you abandon a 8-0 game?)

I really don't care about stats, so yes, I drown, fly off cliffs and desert due to the MM offering such poor gameplay.

You are one of those impressive people who can predict the future, announce it ("We loose again, kidz" ) and then ensure your prediction comes true by removing yourself from the equation.

Let me ask you this.  Knowing with absolute certainty that your life will end with you dying ... why bother with all the boring parts of getting to that end goal?

Well, how about this approach:

Play the actual game and give it your all.

We don't need defeatist mentality in this game.

Yes, that is what I do when I am put in +2 MM in my Tiger 131. Full speed ahead right to the enemy flag. I really am not going to spend time trying to hit enemies I can not catch, not to mention damage.

Kudos for coming back and admitting your mistake.

Besides... it's not even throwing a match in general what people dislike here. Throwing a match right after the start, based on XVM or similar stupid mods or when it just looks bad after a few minutes, that's what people rightfully criticise. Or suiciding.

Nobody will say a word if you are frustrated and decide to crash into a random enemy at the end of an obviously and definitely lost match (and with no teammates in range that might need or deserve some help) to save some time. I guess that everyone does that every now and then.

But throwing before that very moment of certainty is just stupid.
