It's not my favourite map, but not one of the worst for sure. You have outer rim corridors or middle open ground so you have to adapt to win. What could be the reason that players hate this map? Maybe because it's not a map with just 3 potential routes like most of the maps so they get lost and confused?

I do not hate it but I think reason is that it is new and most players do not have all knowledge from key points. Unknown creates fear and fear creates hate, says Yoda.

The Map has 3 potential routes, but only one of them is importent! ->The south!

You can win the north as often as you want, it doesnt matter. What can you do after you won the it? Fight against base campers, and your only way to them is throu a bottle neck. Yeah, so much fun.

I like it too. Didn't like it in the beginning, but I'm getting to it.

Same reason why I hated every Asian map so far. 90% of both teams are focused on 2 grids. And North seems to struggle with going full lemming tard to the K1 corner. Figure out they forgot the middle and then most leave K1 that gets rolled over suddenly facing more guns. And then they suddenly want to go back to K1 again after getting to F2. And leaves the middle area after losing 1 tank and not firing back. Then they get down to K1 and notice they are about to get flanked again from F2. Loses 1 more gun before they back off without firing. And that's how it goes up and down until they are all dead and they lost a 10 vs 5 killing nothing.

As that's basically how 50% of the matches are on that map. The other 50% are when I am at the South side, and 14 guns go K2 and G3. Brawls there for a bit and 100% ignores the 7 guns coming up via G0 into our cap. And then they leave the HT lane 1 by 1 to "reset" so they die faster even there too. Or the enemy is allowed to cap before anyone kills more then 3 on each team. I'm sure I've lost more fast caps on that map then when I had encounter on back in the day on every map.

That's why I hate that map. And why it's on a permanent ban on the #1 spot.

Because of 3 corridors divided by the mountains and high elevations. That's it, not much people/classes could really enjoy it.

That's why it's always mentioned when the worst maps are discussed, along with Paris, Minsk, Ruinberg, Province etc.

Bad map design, with a single corridor and the rest of the map being completely useless, maybe?

I think it's 'dislike of the new'.  Seen people moan about every new map, until they realise there's somewhere for them to hide or brawl.  Then it becomes part of the mythology.

Remember how everyone hated Overlord.  Now there are RULES about it - 'Don't go beach'.  Empire's Border will become a favourite as people adapt.

Coincidence that the majority of people here, that say its a decent/good map, are bots or very near? :girl:

Thats correct, there isnt 3 routes, there is only one that matters. South.

I can assure you its not because "dislike-cuz-new" that most capable players despise this map, like they do Paris, Minsk etc.

I like the size of the map but that's about it.

Map is bad because only one route reliably works to win the map and that route suites a particular type of tank.

Not rocket science.

I hate it.

  • It's not beautiful by design, unrealistically steep mountains.
  • Gameplay wise, it only allows 3 routes which don't have any connection to each other. Therefore team distribution over the flanks is way more important than individual player skills. It's very corridor-ish
  • There are no good 'in between' positions. You've only one option: go forward to halfway a corridor, and start brawling. No sniping, camo, whatsoever.

It's basically 3 choke points and that's it, you might as well just have a wall across the map with 3 gaps in it!

Shitty map design 1.0.

Corridors with choke points, hardcover + softcover for TDs, PIG holes, and 50% is absolutely useless and fucked from the chokepoints. WG map design 1on1.

It's a crap map, nothing to do with the fact it's "new"...

I don't hate it. There are worse maps. I hate Siegfried line, Sand River and Mines more than any other maps.

Wow, you guys and your hatred.  I have one map that I don't enjoy very much.  I guess it must be difficult when you're an elite player and WG start designing maps purely to annoy you.
