with the recent update it was mentioned that some mods will be banned. for fairplay it would be best if all so called ' hitzone mods 'would be banned from the game. it gives players advantage over players who do not use this mod and therefore it feel like cheating to me and is taking the fun out of the game.

Good idea, but as several people have said. Its impossible to cheat in WoT. Cheating is just a myth in this game.

I'll let you into a secret: Once you've played the game for a bit you know where the modules are going to be without the need for a hitzone skin which you can barely make out or, alternatively, that makes your game look like wacky races. The advantage you think such mods give is insignificant.

WoT has no cheaters and politicians never lie or steal

Pass the kool aid over please

On the plus side a whole host of dodgy mods are banned from the start of next month so the amount of magical ESP players with Harry Potter powers will be reduced

It's not that there aren't cheats. I don't think anyone has claimed that.

It's just that the impact the cheats have are limited in their effectiveness and therefore not as game breaking as for example cheating in CS is. That said, I think most mods should be banned.

I don't see any reason to use mods other than the one that lets you set a default zoom level when pressing "shift" so it isn't so damn disorienting to switch between sniper mode and 3rd person mode.

But that gives you an unfair advantage against someone without the mod. Cheater!!!1!!!!!1one1!!!

Those hitzone mods are questinable, but rather harmless. They might even be a good addition for new players.

There are other mods in the "grey zone" that are a lot worse. A LOT.

i agree its not realy cheating because this mod is on the WoT website , but it feels like it ... its a thing, to now where to shoot a tank through experience or when players that use it see a big mark on your tank where to shoot , and this is not to bad playing tds  because they are mostly far away, but playing heavies its a different story. but thats just my opinion

for all i care just ban all the mods so we are all on the same sort of playing lvl

It does, but I wouldn't play the game if I couldn't install that mod. Lucky for me it's just a copy/paste from the previous version so I don't have to bother with any version crap. Otherwise I'm not sure I could be bothered.

You are saying that, but everytime almost EVERYTIME I want to watch some high damage replays of my favourite tanks on youtube it turned out the guy was using cheat. And I'm talking the obvious ones like tundra and aimbot. Who knows what else cheat mods he was using that are hard to tell from just replay.

There is no way to cheat other than hacking into the servers and manipulating certain data like RNG or unspotted enemy position. If such cheating even existed, who would get caught doing it would get banned, but also end up behind bars. :harp:

I'm currently using this "hitzone" feature on protanki, I do not "find" it like cheating, contrariwise it's like helpful for new players. *imo.

Follow.

It doesn't.  It really doesn't.

It has you aiming for places you will struggle to penetrate and if you do penetrate then you only do module damage if you get a lucky dice roll.

Tank models are so crammed with modules that if you penetrate you will hit something, it's much better to go for the certain penetration and tank damage.

And really, if you can't figure out the engine is under the engine deck, the commander is under the commanders hatch, the loader and ammo are near the gun... then there is no hope for you in life in general.

Hm must admit I don't watch those same replays but couldn't it just be that they are blind shooting places they know are likely to have enemies and are just good players?

clap clap clap

So edgy, give yourself a pat on the back.

Nobody is saying that there are no some shady mods, but WoT is pretty much immune to the standard forms of cheating due to the gameplay mechanics or because of the technical aspects of the game. Even hitting the right places where the skin says is subject to random chances. Read: https://wiki.wargami...and_Crew_Damage

There are far worse ones, like destroyed objects indicator. But baddies don't know how to use the minimap so they don't even care about that one, all they know is scream tundra and aimbot because they fail at even more basic concepts of playing such as aiming.
