Morning all,

I know this is a problem many are aware of. It has been highlighted several times as a reason why top tier game play has suffered due to inexperienced players reaching the higher tiers quicker but I just want to point out in my case HOW quick this has been at times.

I just finished the grind on my t28, you need 165,000 experience to progress to the t95.

Admittedly, I had some 5x ex boosters from buying some camo and I used the new x3 5 a day multipliers with wot premium account but can anybody take a guess how many battles it took..... 50? 60?......No....

Spoiler

Thats right, 24 battles to get 165,000 exp. I'm not sure you should be able to get it that quick no matter what combo of boosters you are using I think it's just silly fast.

Thoughts?

Not enough coffee consumed for any coherent thoughts yet but well done.

Well going from the title.
I do agree. You can progress frigging fast now with the boosters and the premium bonus xp.
I fail to see how this is news tho

Actually earlier you could do this in 0 battles using your wallet and converting exp to free exp. Now you can have similar effect by buying premium account and x5 missions.

Because WG clearly oversaturated game with premium tanks (especially tier VIII) they try to find additional way to monetize product.

some thoughts:
1- as I don't have a premium account, my progression will still be slow

2- as this game is already very much pay to win, I don't really care about pay for fast progression.

3- maybe more bad players in the top tiers is what's needed to relax the gameplay there a little. when I hit tier 10, often both teams would have 50% unicums in them, my 1200 WN8 were often in the team's three worst. games were extremely campy and boring, and as soon as I did a move, I would get my @ss pwned.
it won't be bad if there are more tanks to shoot at in tier 10 and if I don't get 4 shells penning me from 400m away as soon as I expose a little bit of a cupola.

True problem, wrong solutions.

A player may be a good team-mate after 1,000 battles and another a burden after 50,000 battles.

The only way to avoid frustration is to separate players in 3 leagues:

1° Newcomers under (x000 WG ranking)

2° Knowledgeable players (x000 WG ranking +/- 2000)

3° Hardcore players (x000 WG ranking +2000)

The higher the league, the better the benefits to avoid sandbagging.

Not even sure 2 leagues wouldn't be enough though.

Don't see much issue, from recently going back to use XVM inexperienced players at higher tiers is not an issue, there are just loads of bad players generally.

My games are full of hordes of 45% or worse win rate players and most of them have like 20k, 30k, 40k plus battles.

An inexperienced, but learning and improving player is IMO better to have rather than these players who continue to play worse than bots even though have thousands upon thousands of battles, at least their is hope for the newbies.

I think the issue is not related to premium tanks. In my opinion those changes address the pay2win-related (endless) stock grind. Obviously WG noticed people don't tolerate it in 2k19 anymore. I think it's a good move by WG, an elegant solution that allows good players to rush through the grind, while not so good advance with steady and reasonable pace. My 2c of course.

P.S. the thesis "stay and learn on lower tiers" is not realistic imho. Gameplay is different and maps are so simplistic that it doesn't require too much time to grasp the mechanics. This isn't a moba after all.

I say its all good. The faster they get to top tiers the sooner they learn how to play those tanks. Playing 2000 games in a Hetzer or Matilda does not teach you much.

Just because you can, doesnt mean ppl will. I passed the 10k games mark and only bought my first tier X tank a week ago.

I have researched zero tX tanks so far.

So you've bought premium time and 5X missions and complain that it's too fast to grind tanks?

How about you don't buy your way up the tech tree if you don't want fast progress?

You could have free XP'd your way up the tech tree for as long as I remember. Pay enough and you'll get a T10 without grinding the line. How is this suddenly different?

This^^

People need to stop worrying about inexperienced players (at any tier) as some player show that after 30,000 battles they still suck.  These noob players also add to the variety of the MM, if only great players played in the higher tiers it would soon be a 'play meta or lose' on every battle.  Remember, these are 'random battles'.  You want ranked/skirmish/CW then it is available.

165k xp in 24 battles = 6.8k xp / battle  --> 1.3k xp without the x5 booster !

Don't forget the additional 5*3x from victories.

I was shocked that I could fully research a t9 in 24 battles without using free exp when a normal grind for average Joe could be hundreds of battles at the same stage. 24 battles using any combo of boosters/premium time seems extreme.

I have no problem with boosters as a concept, people who want to spend money are the reason F2P players are allowed to play this game we all love for nothing, merely how potent they have become and how much of a difference they can now make stacked on top of each other with this new premium account.

With the new system you can really powergrind through tanks.

You can use:

-Personal reservers

-Clan reservers

-Premium time

-Premium 5*3x

-Platoon bonus

-Daily doubles / 3x /5x

-5x missions.

I don't think fast grinding is the problem. There are going to be bad players anyways,

Yeah, then when you take into account I obviously did not win every battle (70% winrate) so did not use the x5 and x3 on those battles at all it gets even more ridiculous.
