Frontline is costing me a huge amount of time, really struggling to even get just the one prestige. I don't think ive ever played any other game that required so much effort just to keep up. Think this will be the last time I play frontline, not sure if im going to make it to get the tier 9 and anyone that does deserves it and I hope the tier 9 is worth it for you.

Like any game that has "prestige". It's more on how effective you are each round. If you struggle to get past capt. Then yes, it will take a long time. If you get Major or General more often. It won't take long. Capping and cap reset, or damage near caps are the best way of farming it faster vs farming damage on the far flanks.

The issue I have with it is the repetitiveness. And the lack of map variation vs the grind. As that makes the grind more boring vs slow.

Oh, It's just super boring. Doing the same thing over and over again, I mean, literally. You only have one goal which is to get promoted as higher as you can with same tanks. I was really looking forward into getting the Emil 1951, but I really cannot stand the game mode anymore. It was fun as hell at Episode 1, skipped Episode 2, played until level 20 in the previous Episode, probably gonna skip this one too... I don't know. I can still buy the tank in the future if they would ever release it in the shop which I know they will, but It's just not the same as earning it. It's a totally different feeling that sucks. If there was at least another map or lower time required to climb up, then I would probably play it a lot.

Frontline is not boring. Wg carefuly analyzed everything (like they do with rebalancing and so on) and came to the conclusion that frontline is the most fun like this, its a perfect mode that will bring joy for 10000 hours or more. Wg is always right.

How ?

Anyway, I'm more pissed that we can't get the Emil now. I'm 1 prestige point short. WG teasing us is annoying.

the effort v.s. reward is simply WAAAAAAYYYYYYY off in this game.

Your own fault imo though, If you grind hours and hours just for some pixel tank, don't expect much sympathy from my side

It is not some kind of epic medal or a 3 marks : when know that you just have to spam to get the Emil : I certainly won't be ashamed to buy it ...

I'm really beginning to doubt the value of the grind. I'll probably follow this one all the way through to prestige X because its the first season but as with marathons WG have made the experience unpleasant enough for me not to bother a second time. And what am I actually doing it for? An Emil which is a minor variation of the tech tree Emil, a tier 9 which they stubbornly refuse to reveal (turretless TDs - just not interested in) or the chance to convert prestige to bonds to use in the bond shop on also unrevealed tanks at unrevealed prices.

I think you'll see a huge drop off in FL players next season once the novelty value has passed.

It's a grind. With bad luck 1 prestige requires ~30 battles. If the average battle lasts 20 minutes it means 10 hours of grinding.

Less than 2 hours a day isn't bad but playing on the same map over and over again gets really boring really fast.

Once you hit general there isn't much to do. You can just drive around in circles for the rest of the battle.

In my opinion we need more maps and more ranks.

It took a Russian CM about 1900 random battles to complete the 260 missions. That's 1900*7 = 13300 minutes = 221.67 hours.

( assuming the average random battle time is 7 minutes)

In FL say you have to play 4 hours daily each episode. That's 4*7*10 = 280 hours.

I don't know about you guys but i think WG overestimated the autism yield on this one!

It seems you fell for the most basic trick game developers are using to make players play more: "free" stuff for "just playing". Well, "there's nothing like free lunch in this universe". That free stuff you still pay, in this case with your time and nerves.

I hope you learned a lesson to check every time how much that "free" stuff will cost you. :great:

Where did you figure out that you have to play 4 hours daily?

The minimum amount of battles needed to prestige is 26. The maximum length of a battle is 27,5 minutes (including 90s overtime).

Let's assume we get couple of bad games (but still full 27,5 minutes) and finish a prestige in 30 battles.

This means 27,5*30*10=8250 minutes -> 138 hours.

138h/10weeks/7days ≈ 2h/day.

So about half of what you were describing. With maximum battle duration (and couple bad games).

Considering the average player's performance.

Please do step down from your 60% WR Olympian mountain and check what mere mortals are doing. For mere mortals that "couple" of bad games is close to 50%. ;)

Was the Russian CM who got 260 in 1900 battles an average player? Does an average player even have a 260?

He is an 1900 wn8 player, still doesn't justify the gap or the different rewards. Also these numbers are just guidelines not exact figures of what the 260 or FL grinds will take!

I just pointed out the flaw in your comment. You can't compare "average" in game mode A to "not average" in game mode B.

According to WoT-Life there are 140 000 Obj. 260 in the RU server and 1,5 million active players. So out of the active players less than 10% have the tank (I don't know how trustworthy these statistics are).

I wouldn't call a player who has that tank "average".

Did the guy start with 0 battles and then get the 260 at 1900 battles or had he already completed the missions for T55A? Most players don't even have a T10 tank at 2000 battles, let alone one for each class.
