Morning guys!

First don't get agitated just yet. It's a short marathon to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Operation Neptune often referred to as D-Day started on Tuesday, 6th of June 1944.

The marathon reward is the french tier 5 TD M10 RBFM. The RBFM or the Régiment Blindé de Fusiliers-Marins was an armored naval infantry regiment of the French 2nd armored division. Four of their M10 tank destroyers which participated in the liberation of Paris were named: Siroco, Cyclone, Simoun and Mistral.

The M10 RBFM also has its own 3D style "Siroco", which can be obtained during the "D-Day" event.

Hello little dude :bush:

A short video of the tank:

And the real super unicums :honoring:

Well, it has to be a super short and easy marathon for a Tier 5 premium tank.

The M10 itself was rather fun and I have fond memories of running out of ammo in a lot of matches due to the great RoF.

However, look at the premium compared to the real deal I can only say that that engine power but more importantly that engine health will be super frustrating. Pretty much any shot will kill it dead with such a low health meaning that you will constantly have a red engine like in the Strv T6 premium.

DPM and gun handling are very nice though.

So compared to the Wolverine, which I remember as being pretty decent. It has a better gun but is more sluggish over the ground.

The gun on the Wolverine iirc was relatively strong and this has a better gun. First impressions - seems worth having even if I don't use it much.

Weaker engine and slightly less gold pen but seriously who cares! :)

It's a piece of history just like the T-34 shielded.

T-34S was more or less 30 of the 50 days for that event. And the T-34-85M was over 2 weeks with daily missions you had to do vs stages like tier 8. So who knows what they will sort out for it. I just hope it's not like the T-34-85M that even rewarded bad play. As that shows what happen when you have no top 10 and win etc as a requirement.

As for the tank? Well it has more DPM and pen then the normal M10 & T67. But way less power to weight etc. So it don't look to bad. I'll take it if I get it. But atm I have 3 premium French TD's... and one normal one as is :P

Apart from the rancid bait, the event is supposed to end before the the next episode of FL which starts on June 17th. So my guess is between a week and 10 days event. Nice try though!

A very cinematic encounter in Paris...

Free France's Lion: The Life of Philippe Leclerc by William Moore

The avenue Kleber, where the Wehemacht had taken over the hotels Raphael and Majestic, still bristled with barbed wire. German tanks charged out of side streets to be met with cannon fire from 12e RCA and the RBFM. The tank responsible for disturbing Massu, Langlade and Mirambeau at the Arc de Triomphe was a Panther down on the Place de la Concorde firing at the troop of RBFM tank destroyers at the Etoile. Four tank destroyers_ Siroco, Cyclone Simoun and Mistral_ split off in twos, advancing down each side of the Champ Elysees. Whatever gaiety may have enveloped other parts of the city, the greatest boulevard in Paris was void of anything but bare pavements and tanks firing at each other from each end. The Panther in Place de la Concorde was beside the obelisque, an Egyptian sculpture similar to "Cleopatra's Needle" in London, erected precisely where the guillotine stood during the revolution. The commander of the Simoun, second mate Paul Quinon, told gunner Robert Mady to set their 76mm cannon for 1500 meters. But Mady was a Parisian and he knew the Champs Elysees was 1800 meters long. He set the gunsight to the correct distance. The Panther was hit in the track and disabled. But it could still fire its deadly 75mm Pak gun.

Someone needs to tell the Siroco crew that they've done their gunmarks wrong.

Nice try on what? Unless you're saying the T-34-85M missions were well designed? As all you had to do was be in the battle on most of them, not do anything. The population on that tank went from 4000 to 250 000 in less then a week. Outpopulating long time sold premiums like even the Crom B at the time.

As for the event time. I did not say it was 14 to 30 days either. I just said how long the past few mid tier reward events have been. I suspected it would last over a week IF we do get one. But if it's daily missions vs stages remains to be seen.

Get a grip, we are talking about a different tank and a different event here. You're welcome to share your thoughts on the matter of course if you stay on topic.

I simply stated a hope that the new missions for the upcoming event is well designed vs before... to someone else. I was unaware that was not a part of the current topic.

The Kursk event was designed around the 50 days period during which the actual battle happened (5 July 1943-23 August 1943). It was nice to see the progress of the battle front on the map. What wasn't nice though, is if you missed one day without playing (1 point) you didn't get the Kursk style in the final stage!

Oh how nice. What about the T78? Is that actually supposed to be the T78?

Looks good, bit better gun vs. mobility. M1A2 is already a nice gun at tier 5, this comes with a bit of buff. On the other side, Wolverine isn't exactly fast, and this has very similar mobility to KV-1S and Pz IV coupled with dreadfully slow turning turret.

As a reminder (and many have pointed it out), marathon can be anything from 5 to 24 days long. All the previous T4 (remember Valentine?), T5 and T6 marathons had the same setup - you need to play almost every day, but can do the missions in just a few games. So you'll probably need to log in *every day*, but effort required is more akin to showing up, instead of putting some sweat into it.
