As a fan of this game , bit latecomer , I was wondering how this game started to be, ...

Was it with 1 map and 1 tank?

What were the first tanks in the game-did they have same characteristics as they have now?

When premiums came into game?

When the game became payable?

When arty came into game?

and so on,...

thanks in advance for your answers.

regards

Zmago

The video will answer most of your questions.

Arty has always been there.

Closed beta by invitation only was late 2010, open beta early in the EU in 2011 but the game was already live on the RU server long before that.

There were premiums during beta, the first tier VIII was the Mutant in the pre order package for the EU server, a lot of people signed up to beta with a Churchill III code though.

Ahhh the days of rolling round Himmelsdorf in a Loltraktor being called noob by all and sundry. Being able to troll the opposition with banter.

And Dingers were the things on ambulances to let you know they were coming.

Inspired by this new (to me) meaning of the word I thought I'd look up what other meanings Dinger has. Apparently a Dinger is also "a thing outstanding of its kind" and "used to sell drugs, drivebys and getaway cars". TDU/WJDE just became a lot cooler. :B
