Dunno whether this topic/poll is present somewhere, but since I went Vanilla since the last patch :great:  I was wondering how things stand overall here in the community. Poll is public, so everyone can be proud of his choice.

Have been vanilla for a while here, got annoyed with having to update mods everytime there was a patch. That and most of the mods i used have been put into the game now besides xvm.

Vanilla since the beginning, no need to worry about being accused of illegal mods (or so I hope).

I am surprised Vanilla is pretty dominant, although the poll has just started. It will be interesting to see what the ratio will be, I am going to be surprised if it stays like this. The relation between never used mods and stopped using them will be interesting as well.

I do or more accurately did make a bunch of cosmetic mods in the past and nowadays still make one or two but mostly really just for myself (I don't really do remodelling for others anymore. I do still offer my opinions on the remodels of other modders though, so some parts of remodels you might see might have been influenced by a suggestion of mine). Y'know, stuff like this:

Spoiler

I of course also use a few others as a result, such as Milky's T-54AM for the T-55A (should be something different tho :v) considering how bad the vanilla model is. Besides that stuff though, I don't really have much interest in other mods. Maybe the MoE Mod if I'm grinding one but I'm not normally someone who goes chasing them, I also enjoyed using a mod that changed the vanilla reload from 2 Digits to 3 As it was in the past, because frankly that was a dumb change, but haven't used it for awhile.

When Jimbo stopped updating his stuff I was to lazy to find anything else I liked and ended up playing Vanilla and have done so for 2 years or so now, been eyeing some quality of life mods though like auto move binos and crew as well as a standalone "who's spotted" icon next to the enemy team list but I haven't bothered to get any yet and in the end I bought the binos I needed instead of moving them around, uhmm did I say I'm lazy? :P

Tried some mods after the start, maybe 2012, just for the sake of it. Vanilla since then.

Tried QB mod with xvm for a little while, made the game more frustrating and frequent updates are very annoying.

Also used hangman from aslain for 1 patch, nice but too much work.

Vanilla for over a year now and very happy with it.... only a few garage options whould have been nice...

At one point I used mods like XVM but gave up on it as a waste of time as it made me react in ways that were not beneficial to play. Then I ditched the stats mods and used it mainly for the 'spotting a forumite mod'. Then I got too lazy to even update for that....so haven't used any mods for about two years.

There used to be a great mod that gave you a reload graphic of a shell rising up from the bottom of the screen and getting rammed into the breech....that was a good simple mod, but I think the guy who created it just stopped updating it about five years ago...pity.

Old Skools mini garage, auto equipment (which does not work in FL), limited zoom x16, fog remover, sixth Sense middle finger icon (for better visibility because I play without sound), greater distance from the third person.

Only mod I use right now is the "has been spotted" markers for the enemy team. Hopefully they add it to the client.

I didn't install any mods till the 1.5, but there are some of them I love, most crucial is server reticle and I liked a few more, like the zoom out one and the more distinct colors for tank classes.

Used to run a mod that showed the view range and render range circles. Naturally stopped using when WG implemented them into the client.

I always thought about XVM, because I see the benefit of knowing what your opponent is like.

if I know the guy round the corner is an absolute pleb with no idea of what LMB does, I can rush it and get it over with, but if I know its a player equal or better than I am, then I can either run or await assistance. right now I have no way of knowing that bar looking at MoE's on the barrel or kills so far, which are not the ideal thing to use to check how good someone is.

knowing that though makes it seem like a cheat to me so I never actually took the idea any further and have stayed with the vanilla client.

Years ago, I used XVM for a good while, but then I just felt bad for using that garbage, so I got rid of it and really haven't bothered with actual mods since then. 1.5 years ago or so I goofed around with renaming tanks or something (mostly for correcting Japanese tank names), but it was mostly experimental stuff. Now I play completely vanilla and feel happy with it.

Used Aslains in the past for arty isometric view and, wait for it, clock in garage...

But when WG enabled isometric view went mod free, still miss the clock in the garage though.
