I like the mode for Ranked Battles now in 2019 but it has one bad thing.

The progress through all the stages and how hard it is to obtain Chevrons.

I  really like the idea, but please....in the next season can we please be allowed at least to qualify and not to simply die without being even qualified ?
At least until you qualify.... STOP TAKING OUR CHEVRONS BACK...at least until we qualify...

I win 3 battles, get up to rank 6 and then I lost 6 matches in a row and not because I don't ''help my team ''...

I think it would be better to modify the mode and allow noob players like me to not lose Chevrons anymore until we reach the '' Qualification '' stage ............

Ranked already favors gaining chevrons if you play 50/50 you're likely to gain more than you lose.

Ranked is chevron positive so provided you win at least half your games you will gain, if you win well you gain faster. If you're having trouble progresing then it simply means you aren't doing well enough. Perhaps you've just hit your skill ceiling for now.

So you are not simply good enough. Exactly the point of Ranked.

The goal is exactly to reward skill. If you can't get past a certain point, that is because you're not playing well enough to get past it. That's the whole point of ranked...

Top 5 on losing team retains crayons right? Seems hardly impossible...

So you don't own an overpowered/reward tank. Then it's your fault that the battles are not balanced.

I doubt any overpowered tank would help sub 50% player to advance the ranks any easier. Only seen players like that in arties at higher ranks.

He's probably just salty he didn't get one on his mediocre reroll account yet.

But you probably have to play hundreds of battles before this effect becomes statistically significant. Until then it's purely a matter of chance.

Yep it's my fault that Ranked is completely unbalanced by OP tanks.

And no I couldn't care less about having an OP tank. I play only lines that I like and find balanced.

No, because you're competing for chevrons within your own team as well so the higher skilled players will win the chevrons and edge out the lower skilled players.

OP has a 49% WR so on average he's winning half his games, but I suspect is finishing low on his team each time so is not getting those double chevron wins that push you up the ranks..

Every battle gives 14 shevrons, and takes away 10. It means you just have to grind it. I've seen people in arta progress, so you can do it too. To top it all off, after qualifiers you will get some x2 battles.

Not really.

Its basically luck, has very little to do with being good or not.

If you get crap teams in a row you will lose Chevrons simple as that. Whereas others can do very little and progress simply by getting good teams in a row.

To a certain degree, yes, you have to get some decent teams. But just by playing semi-alright it's easy to retain the chevrons. I've lost 20, all absolutely moronic games, most under 5 minutes. Still gained 2 chevrons overall...

It doesn't work out at 50/50 though since of those 50% wins you are not always going to be in the top 10 and of those 50% losses you stand a lot more chance to lose a chevron since a much smaller portion of the team will be in a position to not lose a chevy. On balance, you stand more of a chance to not lose and lose a chevron vs winning a chevron or two per battle. The only way to increase your chances of not losing a chevron is to play uber safe low risk stuff from the back and shoot only when it's safe to do so.... and in doing that you pretty much have increased your chances of losing since that negative playstyle, especially when everyone does it, usually results in a loss in which case you are most likely not going to pick up a chevron and more likely to just not lose one, in which case it's a pretty pointless and expensive serious of lost battles. Playing conservatively and padding your way even during a winning battle also runs the risk of not bagging a top 10 since well, you just sat back and didn't really do a whole lot. Sure, you can get teams in which you finish top 10 with a mediocre ultra safe low risk performance but across enough battles, it really isn't going to make much inroads in your progress and generally cancels out.

I played more positively, which meant I often won 2 chevrons as top, or went away with -1 when all the team played the backrow safe loss approach but I had no way to tell what team was going to do what, so I finished up at stage 10 and called it there. It was too expensive for what I was getting along with a side order of frustration. 1k of bonds for what felt like a billion credits pi*sed away into the wind, was a showcase of how stupid I am more than the game mode. And despite typically playing at around 3k WN8 and 60% win rate, I guess I'm not good enough or smart enough to go about collecting lots of chevrons for cheap or reliably every battle. Win rate only really tells across a big sample size and so it hardly really applied to RB since sessions can go one way or another and it's hard to establish a 6 wins from 10 60% on any random team on any given day, maybe today, maybe not. I stopped because it was become my white whale and turned me into a Captain Ahab, if you are going well, I salute you and wish you the best and may it continue for you and well played, you are a good player. For, me 1k is a long way off 5k for an improved rammer and I have no intention of repeating that hellish mind breaking experience for another 4 times for something that's only 2.5% gained, would love it, but not THAT much.

If you can't get a shevron on a winning team, it's bad. Of course, mistakes can happen, but thats a huge one.

Loosing shevron on loosing team tho ... sure, you will loose some. But you will also maintain some.

Let's assume you have 50% wr on RB. Gain one shevron 80% of win battles. Maintain the shevron on 40% defeat battles. You will still have + 10% shevron income. That means, you will just have to power grind it.

I didn't even take into consideration battles where you can gain 2 shevrons, or x2 multipliers, which you'll get later on.
