Vents or gun laying drive?

I already mounted vertical stabilizer and gun rammer.

The tank itself is not my cup of tea, but I got vents on it. As a rule I don't put EGLD on anything except arty. And I think I have one on KV-2, not sure.

The answer is after V Stab and Rammer the way to go is optics. This is because you want to maximise your exp gain so that you spend less time grinding modules and the tank itself. An IS-M wil be right at the frontline with it's armour, and so the ability to spot the enemy second line, so that allied support tanks can shoot the enemy support tanks will net your IS-M more experience every battle than either Vents or GLD. If you have a particular rubbish crew in terms of skill level or perks I might be tempted by vents, but only if the crew is really poor.

Vents, rammer, vert stab.

Crew:

Commander Brothers in arms, 6th sense, recon, repairs, whatever you want.

Gunner Brothers in arms, Snapshot, repairs, whatever you want

Driver B I A, Smooth riding, repairs, offroad, clutch, whatever you want

Loader bia, repairs, maybe adrenaline or cammo or whatever you want

Radio (if it has one) bia, situational, repairs, cammo, whatver you want.

You basically get optics without using optics from the extra 10% crew skills from vents and Brothers In Arms along with better gun handling and some other stuffs.

It's like having Enhanced as well since crew has 10% extra skill, gun is also more accurate, the list goes on. But don't listen to me, I'm a noob.

GLD is only useful if your turret is stationary, and the bonus isn't that much. I'd go with vents or maybe optics. I personally, never use GLD on any of my tanks. V stab is way better and makes GLD not necessary either way.

Rammer, vstab and GLD. That's what I used. It's a bad tank. So are the IX and X tanks. I suggest you stop grinding this line. It's not worth it, Unless you wanna grind all the lines.

Rammer, Vstab and GLD/Vents/Optics (depending on your play style and crew).
